main both side of my ears have segment rings for the two lobe piercing which i changed for myself and my conch on my right too. Its not impossible I would say, I find it quite easy hahah idk in my country here we all do our own changing of earrings

Ive been piercing since 98 an I’ve done a lot of conch piercings with hoops. Never once had a problem with healing. You have to know how to fit the jewelry to the persons ear.

That title is pretty much click bait. I was expecting to get educated on why you aren't supposed to get your conch pierced with a hoop but instead I got a girls piercing reacting bad because she changed it to a hoop. It's still good content but the title was misleading.

April Marie Rubio the reason you shouldn’t be pierced with a hoop is because the movement and change in curve can cause damage to your ear. When you have a straight bar, even when it moves, it will always have the same angle.

Rose Lovelle my piercer said it was alright and i was really skeptical... it irritated the hell out of me and i changed the segment ring into a stud... it wasnt even a week into the piercing had my ear all red // in the end i finally changed back to segment ring (the piercing was damn impromtu so hahah i usually do alot of research before getting any parts pierced)

It’s really uncomfortable to sleep on rings in certain places. I have three in my lobes and I wear pretty big rings in them, about 12mm diameter, and if I lay in certain positions it sort of hurts. The initial jewelry I had in my uppermost lobe piercing was also a ring, but it was smaller than what I have in now so while I was healing I didn’t really have any problems. It’s a slightly different situation, but I have a lot of cartilage even in my lobes so my second and third lobe piercing are either partially or fully in cartilage that’s about as thick as the cartilage in an antitragus.

After reading all these comments about tea tree oil i am wondering if i am the only person who has been told by good reputable piercers to only use saline solution for bumps and irritations. Many have advised against tea tree oil in my experience.

Saline solution for normal care is exactly right but sadly that won't really won't decrease or heal keloids.

I think it's because a lot of people apply it neat instead of diluted. We can buy it diluted in supermarkets here in Australia, I don't know about the US.

Well Saline solution for daily cleaning, Tea tree oil diluted (!!!) for hypertrophic scarring not keloids. Keloids require surgery and are normally way bigger than hypertrophic scars. Also keloids don't have round shapes, they look kinda wonky.

I tried literally anything for my piercing bump by my Tragus. And tea tree oil is the one thing so dat that works a little bit for me. You only have to ben very patient with it, but it truely helps! You have to be carefull with 100% pure oil, that is a little both hash on your piercing but I use tea tree mixed with kamille.

I got my conch pierced with a hoop a month ago, and I’ve had no issues with it. I’ve been sleeping on a travel neck pillow that keeps the pressure off the piercing, and it’s been awesome. I’m also only using qtips with warm water throughout the day and liquid hand soap (not antibacterial) on it once a day in the shower. Easy peasy.

I had issues with my tragus piercing getting a bump and the piercer only told me to put Tea Tree on it but never to wash it off after a certain time or even to dilute it. It was too strong for me when I used it like she suggested and really hurt my ear. Thank you for educating us on how to PROPERLY use the Tea Tree oil. I love your videos.

I used to use it directly as well and it was very drying at first but later i think my skin just got used to it and the bump got smaller and smaller. Now I have a completely healed tragus.

I didn’t know you only apply the tea tree oil for 15 min and then wash it off. I’ve applied it and left it on even tho I dilute it. Now I know.

I never wash it off 🤔 My piercer just said dilute it, like 2 drops to a quarter cup of saline/salt water, and leave it on. It works for me. I think it's just less irritating if you wash it off. It can get a little itchy.

The title is misleading. They didn’t pierce with a hoop. She changed it to a hoop. (Said in the video) You can pierce any conch with a hoop but it has to be the correct fit. More often with a 16g instead of a 14g piece of jewelry. Also please be careful with tea tree oil. It can be too strong for piercings and often needs to be diluted.

Diego Josue I’ve struggled with hypertrophic scarring around my nose piercing (got it November 2018), and the thing I’ve found that works the best is to mix some BC powder with H2Ocean, put a dab of it on the bump, put a little bandaid over it, and go to bed. I wash it off in the morning and go on about my day. A few nights of that usually takes care of it.

Tea tree oil is only supposed to be used when the bump happens. Otherwise seasalt will do for daily cleaning👍

I once went with my sister to a tattoo /piercing shop. She wanted her helix pierced, it was her first "professional" piercing so she didnt know what to expect. As soon as we walk in theres a guy tattooing some chicks back, he asks us what we want, and tells us the piercer wasnt there but that it's just a helix so he could do it. I shouldve told my sister no let's go right then and there. Instead I just didnt tell her she was supposed to tip, so he didnt get one. You could see the disappointment on his face when she only paid the price of the piercing. I later told her in the car shes supposed to tip but I didnt want to say anything because that dude was so unprofessional he shouldnt have even been piercing. She later had complications and ended up taking it out a few months later.

Don't be I went to a bad shop and should have read the reviews I learned to do my research now I had an Ashley piercing done on my lip they guy gave me an eyebrow bar and it was also a short jewelry so swelling was a bitch it would sink into my lip and skin would cover the jewelry then I had to go to my dr for antibiotics and my dr took the piercing out so pills and cream had to go on my lip I found a new shop and still get piercings done

I can see the scratch marks from the tools on the jewellery. Please stop using sub-par jewellery. There's tons of great companies who sell great jewellery. Stop using low grade jewellery. Change to Neometal/Anatometal/Industrial Strength/Etc... If you don't give your customers the option for cheap jewellery they'll automatically switch to the higher end jewellery. You can make more profit, and your clients will love the jewellery even more.

I never washed it off my tragus or my daith. I also never diluted it with water like they say lol and both my piercings healed fine and my bumps always went away. I’m no professional tho 😂😂

I never have. Its been seven months since I pierced my conch and I have had no issues by leaving tea tree oil on it. My bump (that would happen when I would irritate it) always disappear. But I clean my piercing pretty often or I guess regularly so no issue on my end. I also got a hoop, that's what my piercer recommended so there was room for the swelling so this title could be a bit misleading. 😅 Every piercer is different so just listen to your piercer and ask a lot of questions.

I got my helix pierced in August last year, and I've been having trouble with for a really long time after that. I was pierced with a regular titan stud, which I shortened down after a few weeks. The swelling came back though and it never seemed to calm down no matter what I did, (the main problem was that I rolled over on while sleeping). Then, in early March, my piercer asked me if I wanted to try to put in a ring and see if it could heal better with it. And guess what? It did! The swelling have gone down massively since then and it feels a lot better!

I think the problem was that she changed it when she still wasn’t supposed too. I also got my conch pierced with a hoop and it healed totally fine because I didn’t changed before time.

Young Living Essential Oil tea tree is the only pure oil without anything added to it. We do our own pressing and such for our oils. I only trust YL❤

I just wasn’t expecting it to smell like it does which after doing research on it I discovered it was supposed to smell like it did. I just don’t like the smell and I was concerned about it. I happened to also get my order of sweet almond oil and was put off by how it smells to. I love that it has so many benefits,but even with mixing it with other carriers and just a drop or two it’s to strong a smell and it had a burning sensation when I put the mixture on my skin. I had to go wash it off.

@@ivanaam9607 What are you talking about! Pure Tea Tree Oil is already a natural antiseptic, anti fungal and anti inflammatory. Never heard of antiseptic Tea Tree Oil. It's natural smell is like a blend of eucalyptus, mint and camphor with nothing added.

well, i always do mine overnight whenever i have a bump, i’m sure it’s not a big deal. Just make a drop of oil on a q-tip and spread it around the area and wash it in the morning:)

It could be the type of saline you're using? I didn't get the kind at my piercing shop a couple months ago and used some I had at home in my first aid supplies. It was the wrong kind but I'm not sure what it's called right now. It had too much salt content and was burning the shit out of my skin. I started getting the fine mist saline from NailMed (like Lulu's always shows in the blue can) and haven't had ANY problems since. I've had 15 piercings done since January 😊

My conch had got a bump on it and I did the tea tree oil treatment and now it’s fine. But watching the clumps of dead skin fall off was crazy!! I live in New Jersey and are there any piercers u guys recommend, maybe a fellow friend piercer?

It just looked irritated to me, but I know everyone reacts differently to piercings. I pierced my conch seven months ago with a hoop. Mine is a bit bigger and there is space between my ear and the piercing. It's not snug. They recommended the hoop for me so there was room for the swelling that you get when its first pierced. I have had no issues so far - its healing nicely, so I guess for these cases just talk to your piercer and they'll more than likely work with you. ❤

Coconut oil and tea tree oil works way way way better then tea tree oil alone. I fully healed my industrial because of it in such a short time and it was HELLA INFECTED. I tried it all. For my cartilage piercings it is all I ever use along with dial soap

I've had my helix pierced since i was like 14 and im 21 now and i tried putting in a segment hoop recently and i literally could not and it hurt so bad trying to put it on and my ear got all swollen and red lol i dont even know how people get those in at all.

I have a 16G segment ring in my nose and two 14G segment rings in my earlobes. They’re a massive pain in the ass but they are good for piercings that you never want to change jewellery on. They really suck to put in and take out by yourself.

Mixing pure tea tree oil, some sea salt, and aspirin together and putting it on your piercing overnight works like a charm to get keloids off. Just put it on every night until keloid comes off

Just got my conch both sides with hoop, the left side is okay, the right side tho....hurts like a bitch, hope it‘ll heal okay, I wanna get another conch on the right ear in the future

My conch looks JUST LIKE THIS. I got it pierced and got the hoop right away. I'm gonna change to different jewelry for sure.

No pull discs for scaring. It takes about two weeks depending on how big the scarring is but it's a lot faster than oil

doesnt actually help the main issue. Bumps form either from trauma (ie knocking it, sleeping on it etc) or shitty quality jewellery. They form because of irritation, you need to remove the source of irritation!!

Did I miss where she said she was pierced with the hoop cause I didn't hear it at all. Was the reason she shouldn't have been pierced with a hoop because she had a tiny bump? That's such a common occurrence that it seems difficult to prove that's why it's there (if she was actually pierced with a hoop).

I had my conch and triple helix piercings all pierced with a hoops and had no issues. I’ve had more issues with my rook piercing pierced with a curved barbel.

I had to take out my rejected daith piercing and let it heal on the advice of my piercer but now I have some white fluid trapped inside the healed piercing, only a tiny bit of it. It’s been a month since I took it out I am applying tea tree on that to dry it out but don’t know what is the best way to deal with this. Any suggestions would be helpful.

You'll be fine! I got my snake bites done with hoops 10 weeks ago. It does take longer to heal with hoops but if you have any issue with them go to your piercer!

I want my conch done... I have such a bad time healing though, my ears just want to reject the jewelry. I have 3 in each ear but they took 6 month to a year to heal right. Only one got infected and it was because of the jewelry used, it was too short of a bar and my ear couldn't swell. I just don't want to get it done and take 2 years to heal or have it be rejected.

Jayce I would say to stay away from getting your conch done. My ears are not sensitive and I wear cheap jewelry in my lobes and still over a year later my conch gives me trouble. I’m not taking it out because I love it. The first 6 months was pure hell and it was one of the most painful experiences I’ve ever had with a piercing. If you so decide to get it done, make sure it’s a stud that has no nickel in it

@@Hannah-qd9do Yeah I've heard a lot of rough healing with it. Which is my main turn off. I had my helix done ages ago and the jewelry was completely rejected... Don't want to go through that again. My lobes had enough issues. I also work a job where having my ear hit would likely happen more than I'd like (no way it'd heal over my vacation period) I'll stick with my clip on rings for my conch for now, maybe some day but yeah. Thanks for you input.

Only if and when you have a piercing bump. Happens from trauma to the area like getting it caught, smacked, pulled or even slept on

@@ms.danielle8246 bumps also happens when you have shitty quality jewellery (irritation bump = irritation from trauma and/or bad jewellery). Jewellery should be implant grade titanium or steel, best bet is to use anatometal, industrial strength, neometal or leroi

I have my conch and had it for 7-8 months absolutely zero problems healed amazing so I went and got a hoop. About a week with the hoop and I noticed my ear hurting and started to have a little pus so i took it out and switched it back to the stud and it back to normal. Can some people not have hoops?
