Muchas gracias por la información, hace mucho no encontraba un video tan interesante. Intentaré hacer la impresión Lumen aprovechando que aún tengo bastante sol. También me dedico a la fotografía con negativos en papel y hace poco construí una cámara para papeles de 12 x 16" y va todo bien. Saludos desde Chile.

I wonder what would happen if you re-photographed the Lumen print with a good digital camera - making several exposures and combining them with HDR? I did this with some old Kodachrome slides and the result was so good a friend thought the images were current of some film making a movie about the late 1950s!

Hi Joe thank you very much for your video. I will start for the first time experimenting with lumen prints. I bought an old ilford 8x10 paper. I wonder if I want to fix the image how much fixer should I use. Can I achieve magenta’s and blueish colors on ilford papers changing acidity? ☺️

Some people report "fixing" lumen images with fixer, but I understand it clears away most of the image. I keep my lumen prints stored in light-tight envelopes and bring them out only to scan or briefly view them. I just heard of someone selenium toning the lumen print for permanence, I will try that and make a video about it, if it works.

That’s a great question, I haven’t tried it, mainly because of the recent shortage, but I will give it a go and let you know.

Hi Joe let me know: the lumen must be developed on fixer after expose or only in water? or nothing must to be do??? Best regards

The image appears by itself, just the action of light against the silver gelatin emulsion. Don't develop it, otherwise it'll turn completely dark (because the amount of light required to get the lumen image will otherwise over expose the paper if you try developing it). If you fix it, the image will fade. So I don't know of a good way to stabilize the image. The paper will remain light-sensitive, you'll have to store it in a light-tight envelope.

For a hybrid process where the analog re-usable film eventually fades, photo-luminescence can be used given the limitations of detail compared to paper negatives as described here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Y5eDhbOAu926f3U.html - no chemicals needed.
