Did you mention that you should close out the tool often if fixing many areas of a photo? This is really necessary if you make a mistake, because if it's on that's really hard to fix, using the Back or Undo arrow, you'll undo EVERYTHING you've done up until that point. Undoing one part of a mistake is far better than undoing the entire edit and starting over, which is what a bunch of newbies to this tool will be doing given Photoshop's Undo of only the latest instance of the tool.

I often use clone tool to repair blown highlights in clouds or water and then I use strength/opacity at less than 100% because I just want to copy the "structure" of the cloned area but not necessarily the tone - I still want the area to be a highlight. But that's about the only use I've found for less than 100 opacity in cloning.
