This is the monster log I was calling Lumpy's sticky bottom. It is a giant spruce log, you would not believe what I went thru to get this log back home let alone up on the sawmill. The video starts off with yea a fail or two.. Wait till you see this thing on the LT15wide sawmill, woodmizer would be proud! Sawmilling slabs out of this turned out amazing.

I think you will find once dry an planned out you will wish they were thicker. Most slabs should be 10 or 12 quarter. 2 inch slab you will be lucky to get a 1 1/4 thick. With shrinking twisting and cupping. Good luck.

@mcsawmill
@mcsawmill 10 ай бұрын
the 2" should be 2" thing is an adjustment, you move the site up or down to fix that. Sawdust exhaust yea but I check sawdust to determine if my speed is correct so there is that. Also the muffler, and this isn't just woodmizer, woodland Mills too, put a real muffler on these things so we don't need hearing protection. Sawmills are stupid loud, my skidster is 1/10th the noise and it's 60 hp not 25 hp...

A shame to waste what could be a very nice grain piece. On a real mill, we could cut that whole thing in less than 10 minutes with two 48 inch circular blades, over and under, powered by 250 horsepower CAT diesel. This was done over 60 years ago on what was considered a portable mill. Oh to be young again.
