In This Video, I will be giving my honest review of the anime Sword Art Online Alicization and ranking the characters on a tier list! This is going to be a series where I watch all the SAOs until my brain cells have all deteriorated. My content is satire in nature and while it may sound like I disliked the anime it's mostly bad jokes. I will be talking about what makes it a good anime... by insulting everything about it. Season 1 of this anime was released on Oct 7, 2018. There are a few more series left after Alicization. There is a Light novel that you can read, so I recommend reading it even though I have no idea what happens. This video contains Large spoilers, so be aware if you plan on watching the anime or reading the manga. This anime is available in dub.

Eugeo arc is written like that . His goal is to meet His childhood friend Alice zuberg which he finally got & saved Kirito from death while actually giving a trauma into him

@@jacobgroves9274 The game is a whole different continuity. For starters, since they were forced to keep playing SAO until the 100th floor, Kirito got way stronger there, to the point he canonically beats Yuuki at the end of Hollow Fragment.

Funny story about the scene with the two bullies: after the anime episode that featured it aired, Kawahara tweeted two things. One of them was an apology to the VAs followed by an explanation of why he included so many scenes like that in the source material (In a nutshell, they're there because Past Reki wanted an easy way to make readers hate the villains). The other one was him being baffled by the way this time it's animated in such a ridiculous manner.

Pros: Kirito was the most fun and believable he has ever been compared to past seasons. Quinella was one of the most competent rare antagonists I've had the joy to see. I'm surprised that exposition was done really solid. Cons: I'm not a Eugeo fan, nuff said. Its so obvious the writer didn't know what to do with Alice's character, so he isekaied Fate Stay Night Saber into doing the job for snack-buns for free.

you're so right about eugeo's death, I didn't expect him to actually be dead, and then moving to alicization part2 my heart was hurting the entire time because eugeo was my favorite character by a long shot.. Then few years later I rewatched it, this time knowing he was gonna die, and man, it was 1000 times worse

It's a introspective hate on him. He's a cookiecutter, blank slate. Goodie two shoes, but then sorta scummy in other areas. So people realize that and hate him. You know those character types that are too strong yet let other weak people die etc.. for no reason. Also pretending to be pure and stuff yet doing underhanded stuff and stealing etc...

The Voice actors thing. I remember watching some random anime (Vivy) and hearing some random character...WAIT IS THAT LELOUCH..of course it was him. Japanese VA are something else man. Pure passsion and hardwork they put into their work usually makes you remember them even across decades. I watched Code Geass during its release and Vivy was like 12 years later and I still had no problems with that.

First half of next arc is SAO at it's best, because Kirito isn't in it. Unforchantly if followed up by instant dissapointment, which is expected by now.

A1 managed to ruin the best arc in SAO, but it still came out rather decent. For you know this arc contained 7 volumes of LN. And most of it gone.

Add that on with unnecessarily added fan-service scenes and anime original scenes that made no sense, yeah they messed up royally. Glad that the director for Alicization got sacked from being a director for the Progressive movies…hopefully they keep him out of Unital Ring as well.

@@giza_5622 Although Progressive did have a good chunk of original scenes, I thought that it was well executed and actually fits in the story. Aria in the novels was pretty dry to be fair, and by incorporating scenes from the manga and original scenes into the movie it elevates it even more. It’s not like the movies had useless addition such as Yuna and Eiji being added in WoU, which was purely just fan-service. The scene being added was most likely the reason why PoH’s backstory got butchered. In the novels he was a mercenary for hire while in the anime, they turned him into a racist/abridged his backstory. I haven’t seen the Scherzo movie yet since it is out only in Japan atm, but I’ve heard that some BIG plot points were changed. Need to see for myself. If Ono directed Progressive, I bet you he will add Kirito’s piss eyes in the boss fight just to add hype.

@@phillipn6475 i know right. When i watched aria myself i thought Asuna's gamer friend would die since original Aria starts with Asuna's anxiety in the dungeon. But i genially don't know what to think right now. This new character herself created 2 or 3 plot holes. Like, if ger friend is a beta tester, why didn't she explained to Asuna that YOU CAN WATCH ON YOUR PARTY MEMBER HEALTH AND NAME? THAT IT IS MORE EFFECTIVE TO HAVE 1 STRONG WEAPON? etc. They we're henging arount for almost 2 months. I can't decide if presence of this new character will lead to greater disaster or not because her existence have no point rn imho

@@giza_5622 Yes, that’s usually the issue with adding original content, ESPECIALLY a new character. Even with that flaw, the movie was still presented/directed better than the entirety of Alicization. For Alicization, instead of guessing which scenes they would improve on in the novels from episode to episode, I was actually thinking more about how they are going to screw up certain scenes. That just shows how much they messed up in terms of an adaptation. The show may be decent to anime onlies, but to Novel readers, it’s an absolute nightmare.

As much as I love this garbage fun isekai, I really hate how Kirito always change to his iconic sao jacket suit with dual blade, that thing was just dumb and didn't make sense. They literally made him do that because he looks so cool lmao.

The reason for him switching back to the blackwrym coat was something the anime did not adapt well (go figure). Since phantom bullet he has been running from the past, and more accurately the black swordsman title. He is happy that no one in the underworld knows his past, but he still hides from the past by intentionally never using the skill he was most known for in SAO, the Vorpal Strike. Him gaining the coat again while activating vorpal strike is symbolizing acceptance of the mistakes of the black swordsman. Him dual wielding at the end is even more acceptance, on top of his drive to save eugeo. I haven't gotten to the end of alicization yet, but this is what I gathered. Hopefully that explains a little bit more about one of the worst adapted arcs yet.

@Shaunathon No. Vorpal strike is the skill he uses an enhanced incarnate version of to defeat Chudulkin. Starburst stream is the skill he uses in the battle with the gleam eyes, at the end of Ordinal Scale, and while acting as a conduit to overload Gabriels fluctlight.

Honestly, imo the best and only good part of Sao as an anime only at least. I heard that the novels handle things better but ehh, probably won‘t bother reading them. Sad part is, at least for me, the second part was back to being mediocre at best even though Kirito was in vegetable mode. Shows that it‘s the unnecessary Round of Harem is the bad part not „Omg he‘s so Cool-Kirito“...

In my opinion, the beginning of the season really blew my socks off. I absolutely LOVED the first few episodes of the season, but after the fight against that queen lady (I forgot her name) I think the show just got boring for me.

Can we talk about how stupid Rath was with their AI goal? Like seriously, they’re just TRYING to create Skynet at this point. If they just wanted something that was smart enough to point a gun and shoot, why not grab any one of the Integrity Knights? They perfectly capable of killing so long as it is within the Taboo Index, and they also follow orders to a T. Why would you want an AI that’s not only able to disobey orders but is naturally inclined to do so.
