Morning Brian, I'm glad you are going to put the 318 back in the car for now. Not good to just let it sit. Get out there and floor it! See how she performs, and how she feels. This way you can get some enjoyment out of her, and at the same time possibly identify any areas of concern and address them before you take the engine back to Nick. Enjoy it, and hope you get the daddillac ironed out.

when you tore open the wrapping on the engine i was like nooooo i was supposed to do that here at nicks garage lol, i dont blame you bryan they extended the border closing to may 21 which we all know will become june 21 then july 21 then jan 21 2022 etc , my heart hit the floor when i saw the wires , dont worry i wont tell the fury its our secret hahaha one day them wires will be shooting electricity on the furys spark plugs

It will be great to see the satellite going again, l don't blame you for not waiting so long, maybe you can catch someone with a portable dyno and get some numbers, then when you do take it back to Nick's you can compare the numbers!

I am thrilled to see this engine go in the car. I am REALLY interested in this colaboration and have been following since day one. I love Nick and his channel (I am Canadian too eh?) but I am more interested in seeing it run. Besides that, I would rather see what she makes at the wheels then the crank anyways. Good luck out there and keep up the good work.

So what did you do with the main bearings? I was hoping to see you use the larger plastic gauge.. maybe you could have just swapped to 1 over?

No, that crank was junk. It was worn more than seven over and the thrush surface was concave. I sent photos of the crank saying that I had issue, and he said if we need parts he has them down there. During the live John Wilburn pointed problems out to him as well as well. He looked it over and said it would be fine. Ultimately the machine shops open back up after the Covid lockdowns here in New York, I brought it down there. They said there’s no saving the crank so it has a 340 crank cut 10 over.

8.0 compression 318 with cast iron intake and a cam...guessing about 270 HP @ 4800 and 315 ft lbs @ 3200.

Sandbag the first pass so the trolls will stop watching right there and go all over the internet screaming “junk, junk, junk!!!” LOL. I expect it to run well, but the real numbers will come out with more converter and rear gear. Don’t forget that 727 robs a good 1-2 tenths, too. That car will be fun to whittle the time down on.

The gentleman that has that really awesome challenger Matt gave me a nice 904 transmission, so unless I get a manual for it a 904 will be sitting behind that 318

Brian, you ignored the red and white square body in the corner. Is that a Suburban? Here in Mexico the square body was sold up until 1991. The regular cab short box was sold from 1989 to 1991 with that front end. There are still a lot of them around and for decent money too, compared to what they go for in the states.

Seriously, reload the 318, make the interior livable for a couple of passes, & send her...I read a LOT of #HemmingsMotorNews as a kid - even before I was licensed, so do us MoPar fans proud. It's to make it look like an old rusty engine. I think it has some black paint splatter on there to enhance the effect.
