Lure Making Floating Stickbait - part 2 Build to Catch World Record Trevally

This week lure making tutorial covers second part of the floating stickabit build. Including painting and foiling the lure. Also the fishing in La Digue, that includes me catching Unofficial World Record Bludger Trevally !! Unfortunatelly at the time I wasn't aware what species it was, so I did not document the weighting of the fish properly, thus I didn't report the record to IGFA. Never the less it was a fish of a life time :)
Fishing tackle used:
Rod: Savage Gear Roadrunner XLNT 243cm 20-80g (4piece travel rod)
Reel: Shimano Spheros SW 4000 HG
Line: Dragon Invisible 8x 0.22mm
Leader: 1.5m of Savage Gear Regenerator 0.81mm
Hooks: BKK Fangs 6066-2X-NP size 1 on the belly, size 4 on the tail
Split rings: 6mm Kamatsu Hyper Strong 60kg
Braid to leader knot: PR Knot
Leader to Lure knot: Rapala knot (no split ring or swivel)

WOOOOOAH CONGRATULATIONS. I can remember saying in one of your videos that I've watched tonight that "ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE WITH YOUR LURES", this video has proven it. You only have to look at your attention to detail and perfection that you put into your lures to know that they are special. I'm listening to the videos through my background noise cancelling headphones, I'm sure I can actually hear your heart beating like mad lol. I've watched loads of lure making channels and not one can claim that they've actually caught a WORLD RECORD FISH on their lures... Until now, I'm so chuffed for you. Have you got the lure framed and in it's own display cabinet? I would if I was you. Congratulations you've so deserved it👍😷👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Thanks 🙏 yeah it's the crazy heart beat 🤣 my previous PB sea fish was 2kg GT 😋 I didn't claim the world record cause the video doesn't show the scale, besides by the time I caught it I didn't even knew the species of Trevally, so I assumed they would grow to at least 20-30kg 😋 never mind, fish of a lifetime non the less 😎 the lure is on display together with the first lure that caught 96cm pike, the viral minnow that never was fished since he made 1.6M views and the lure that caught my PB trout in Italy (56cm) 💪

@@SuchaJerkCustomLures 😂😂🤣😂🤣🤣😂 I can remember thinking.... "That's his heart beating"!. You now know that it's the world record that's what matters most. Your previous PB was 2kg... Yep it smashed that to hell and back lol. I've not seen the Pike or Trout video, guess where I'm going now lol.

Yeah I was wandering also during watching the video if that was my heartbeat 😅 but we'll the excitement on one side on the other hand it was a solid workout 💪

Hi man ! First of all, well done ! It's an amazing fish you caught here ! I also wanna know if you noticed a difference in action with your lures compared to the industrial ones, like a more precise action with your lures or theirs. I noticed that you made the head of the lure like that several Times, is it your signature or just for fun&efficiency ? Anyways that's an amazing Channel, keep it up 💪💪

Thanks man 😃 to be frank I'm not able to answer the first question, as from over 3 years I'm fishing exclusively with my own lures... So I don't even remember the commercial ones 😜 if you buy branded onse, nothing wrong with their action, however the advantage of making them yourself is, if the production one doesn't come in one particular colour, or the best colour version is only a floater and you could really use sinking one, you just make it, I have some lures that are made specifically for one species and one particular spot on my local river(and it's performing great) 😁 as for the aluminium "faces" sort of my signature move, definitely nothing efficient in it (it takes long time) but since I'm not too good at carving gills, faces etc, I'm making that whenever I wish for the lure to look more realistic 😉

Yeah that was a awesome fish, not everyday you're catching the World Record fish 😁 the foil is a self adhesive aluminium tape used to seal the heating or ventilation corridors/pipes 😉

Hejka 😃 zdecydowanie brakowało mocy tej wędce, teraz kupiłem Daiwa BG offshore popper, przedwczoraj byliśmy na tunczykach z łódki (jesteśmy na urlopie na Zanzibarze) i udało się wyciągnąć tuńczyka 11kg - kij się spisał na medal, tak samo nowy kołowrotek Spheros 8000 💪 ten Trevally był złowiony na Seszelach, wyspa La Digue, plaża Anse Patat 😉 złowiłem też Tuńczyka bonito około 5-6kg to przy tej rybie SG jeszcze dawał radę 👌

Когда я работал в русском ресторане в Лондоне, я немного говорил по-русски. Теперь я просто использую Google Translate. Да, я ловлю голавля, одну из самых распространенных рыб, которых я ловлю на приманки UL, также я ловлю жереха и судака 🙂
