Wow. I wasn't expecting it to be that good for the fact it's plastic, but it looks exactly like the poly statues. Might start collecting these! Great video Ryan!

I was tempted to get this one but had a really bad experience with wetas shipping (not arriving) last time i ordered. To be honest it would be cool to see their pvc figures sent to actual distributors in the us

awesome video, shame they didn't go a touch darker with the skin for Lurtz. I have tried to draw Lurtz a few times and I always find the movie stills really difficult to work from, there isn't as much clear reference for him as you would expect.. The base is pretty cool, do any of the other figures have a matching one?

Cool. I love how you put the Asmus Lurtz next to the Weta one... I have the Asmus, and was going to 3d print an accurate shield for him as the one it comes with is waaay off. I hate it when companies do this... make a potentially great statue only to mess it up with stupid details.....looking at you Iron Studios. Great review, great statue. The quality looks incredible to me. If they make Sauron, Gandalf, Galadriel etc I will dive in and collect this range too. Bit worried about Aragon and Sarumon's faces in this range... the pics look a little off to me on both of these. I hope I am wrong.

Thanks for the comment! Yeah so far I've only gotten non-human figures so that hasn't been an issue but hopefully no uncanny valley issues with Aragorn, he's suppose to ship sometime soon I think.

Loved Lurtz. He was the nemesis the film needed and Boromir's death was so much more jarring as it was due this brutal merciless Uruk. Kind of wanted him to last longer but also was glad when Aragorn decapitated him.

I agree, PJ took a risk in creating a character for the LOTR but I think Lurtz filled in as a great "big bad" to the last part of the FOTR. Thanks for watching :D

Even if you don't really seem excited for the Amazon show, if they eventually release figures of characters from the show, do you think you might buy some ?

yes! I am excited for the show... I would actually love to get a replica of the hammer shown in episode 2. :D

I know!! It should hopefully be soon, I've had 4 shipping notifications for things from Weta over the past 2 weeks, they seem to finally be moving things long promised

It seems like they hit a snag at Weta. My hopes are they reworked the face, giving the statue a stronger resemblance to Viggo Mortensen.
