We had a blast at the 2023 Artisan Guitar Show in Harrisburg, PA, playing guitars and chatting with luthiers from all over North America and beyond! This time we connect with Utah-based Ryan Thorell, whose archtops have won many fans including the legendary John Pizzarelli! Ryan balances the classic and the modern beautifully in both his archtops and acoustic guitars, crafting almost every guitar he makes for specific players. He says, "The approach to it, for me, is always based on trying to interpret what a musician is doing and where they come from."
