I love that Jessica brought up the point of "romanization" because it's actually a common issue that Korean people think need to be regulated as well. We have a list of suggestions and rules, but nothing is set in stone. For a country whose GDP relys on exported goods, I (and many Koreans likewize) strongly support the idea of standardizing names and patterns. The same name such as Jungkook or Gim can be (misspelled) as Junggook, Kim etc. And not only is it confusing for foreigners, it's a bigger headache for Koreans as well. Especially when working with government documents lol.

For India yes still BTS but that girl knows nothing about K-pop and India specially old fans who are not into BTS anymore they knows a lot and follows group that have Indian idols like #BLACKSWAN #XIN more , but in general specially kids are not that aware and toxic fan they only know few like BTs , Blackpink , Twice, Etc..

Doesn’t matter what other kpop groups are known, bts are still the most popular even when non kpop fans hear their name they instantly know who they are. If you say another group they’ll look confused

Gp only knows about BTS.. probably few know BP but speaking about non k-pop fans..it's BTS, that's the fact..she's correct.. before BTS, only North East Indians and few..like 1-2% hardly in mainland India knew about k-pop...even South Korea tbh..knowing about even the term "k-pop" before BTS was rare..BTS are the reason that k-pop is mainstream and even know in majority of countries around the world..and it's not niche interest anymore.. BTS indeed paved the way for k-pop globally

I agree with you, it's true that people who don't know anything about Korea or k-pop they still know about BTS because of their toxic fans and call them plastic but the people who know about k-pop and follow them they like other groups besides BTS. Like me who like SEVENTEEN, TWS and follow blackswan, xin(because there is Indian in group)

I don't think so she forgot them, question was is kpop popular in our country?!.. and she answered it well, In India kpop is famous becoz of BTS.. if you ask any random person about SK, even if they have 0 knowledge about SK they will atleast know about BTS...the other countrie's kpop members like lisa and etc are either already famous or they debuted in a famous company...Sriya and Aria are still growing on their own will as they debuted in small company...many Indians still doesn't know about them...And most important Kpop craze started growing in India since 2020 so ofcourse it's becoz of BTS and other kpop groups..

FYI, not every Indian people will pronounce the name "tzuyu" as she pronounced in the video. Some of us we might as well pronounce it as "zuyu" leaving T silent. I pronounce it like other girls that are telling that in this video.

What Carissa from Indonesia said is very true, in Indonesia perhaps only young women like South Korean K-Pop, and 1 or 2 indonesian boy like South Korean K-Pop.And Indonesian men don't really like South Korean women, preferring Indonesian, European and Japanese women even though many Indonesians are South Korean K-Pop idols.For example, "secret number, zodiac and beauty box and others, but the difference is that if South Korean K-Pop idols are only South Koreans, maybe they have 1 million followers,And if South Korean K-Pop idols include Indonesian members, they might have more than 1 million followers And get more promotional support from South Korean companies in Indonesia and Indonesian companies because Indonesia is the biggest market for South Korean K-Pop entertainment

Indonesian girl have strong javanese accent, normally you pronounce "k" in the end of word in case of Jungkook and many other words - thats not including "nk", people usually voice it "ng", yes, no "k" sound

Alright lemme say something real quick, the Indian one you brought is not a K-pop fan, umm, no no. She's literally stereotyping that's so disrespectful. I mean I don't live in India but, like I can still say that won't be the case for everyone. But as for the Indonesian person , very well said. My mom and dad only know BTS and Blackpink from the names as well but bc of me my dad knows like the faces of BTS he can recognize them as a grp. one time I was watching a kpop program on tv I don't remember who the group was but at first my dad was passing by and he was like listening to your favs I see but then he went like oh wait they aren't the ones right? I was literally shocked myself to see how much he knows just by passing by of me watching and listening to K pop.😅

The Japanese girl speaks good English her phonetics and dengous and fluffy only have to try not to vocalize and diphthong too much English is not cool or sounds cool, her voice is nice to hear, the Korean language and Indonesia has the same sound the difference and that the Korean language is soft and Indonesia is fast stressed in intonation if they speak softly in the same phonetic way they end up coinciding in speech.
