Today we take a look at the Luxiajun Mastery Power Bar in stainless steel. This bar checks all the boxes in what I look for in a good power bar, but can it replace my tried and true Rogue Ohio Power Bar? Let's find out...

@@BasementBrandon I like it. I don't have experience working out with nice bars. For the most part the gyms I go to have generic, cheaper stuff. The knurling on this stuff is serious. I've been working out a good while and right now my hands and fingers feel like I put them through a cheese grater. I'm not a very heavy lifter (275x8 today on deadlifts), but the bar felt good. The plates I can tell I'm going to hate. Loading and unloading the bumper plates are a pain. Nothing to grab on to and I certainly can't grip a 55lb fat plate and move it. They are fine for now, and they're quiet, which is good because I have 3 boys under 6 and another kid on the way. But I wish I had spent a little more and got the calibratiled steel plates. Overall I can't complain. 299 for the bar feels like a steal.

Just received this bar and so far have no complaints - the knurling does need to be brushed to get the flakes off but like you mentioned not a big deal. I pull hook grip and usually with my black zinc OPB I don't like holding it at the top due to the discomfort/pain but was relatively painless with this bar and the grippiness is just as good if not better. Some other things to note (vs. my 20kg OPB): - my plates fit on tighter on this bar - the collars appear to be slightly thinner Was a bit worried after seeing that one comment here but haven't ran into any major issues with my version of the bar

I own the E1 power bar and I had much the same experience you talked about. The knurling seems abit “rougher” than the black zink rogue bar I was using pre-pandemic. Buttt now that I got used to it, I love it. The bar doesn’t spin as well as the rogue bar either, even thought when I 1st unboxed the bar it was covered in a lot of oil. Once I got the oil off found it to be perfect for the big 3 where spin doesn’t matter quite as much as say clean/snatch. No regrets, especially considering there were no other options at the time of my purchase. 😂

This is pretty dope! I agree about a full knurl!! Or I just wish we had a unique bar for each lift in comp. squat bar @ 29mm with a full knurl across. Bench typical power although an argument for 28-28.5 is cool. Deadlift bar with whip or without and better knurl marks for sumo and conv but tbh idk if that really matters much. I just hate both a traditional squat bar and the fact a power bar in usapl goes for squat. It tremendously rolls up my back from lack of knurl but squat squat bars whip too much because of bar length. I’m gonna buy this bar and review the crap out of it tho, I like the slightly wider knurl

Do you think it’s more of a medium aggressive or what is your detailed opinion of it
@BasementBrandon

So a lot of it will depends on what you're looking for and what you've used in the past. I find this bar to be on the more aggressive side compared to "regular" barbells. For powerlifting specific bars I"d put it in the above medium category. I don't think it's over the top and you should get acclimated quite quickly.

It sounds like a good bar but I prefer a narrower center knurling. It seems like a good idea because you'd think "Oh, more knurl = more grip" but then I never felt any more stable with a Texas Squat bar than with an Ohio Power Bar. And actually, I think the wider center knurling can make it harder to find the middle of the bar for squats (I hold the bar pretty narrow so the rings don't help much).

The bar was cradled and protected in styrofoam and a long clear plastic sheath. Grade A+ for packaging. The power bar had minimal flakes on the bar/ knurling and the sleeves were very lightly coated with oil. The power bar looks fantastic and a high-quality bar. The knurling is tight, grippy, and feels solid in my hands when gripping it. How does it compare to my old bare steel Texas Power Bar? It crushes my Texas Power Bar as a powerlifting bar. There's different camps right? Those who think $200 for a bar will def think this is overpriced, but those looking for a stainless bar know that it costs more. This is the most affordable power bar in SS that I've come across and my copy is fantastic. Although one of the gambles of going import is bars vary from batch to batch, so in a lot of cases I'd prob be willing to pay more for a US made bar where consistency is a bit better across the board.
@yevgeniyfiskin4781
@yevgeniyfiskin4781 3 жыл бұрын
@@BasementBrandon I am in the camp that if a Rogue can make the SS OPB in the US using US steel, US labor, and sell it for $425. Then there is no way that it costs a Chinese company only 10% less to make the same bar using Chinese steel, and Chinese labor. Bells Of Steel sell their bare stell 29mm power bar with comp sleeves for $199 with free shipping from Canada. And they are not even a Chinese company, they simply make their bars in China. Stainless steel bars are generally 30%-50% more than their bare steel counter parts. This would put the reasonable price for LuXiajun bar at $300 at the very max. They are price gouging the US consumer without even bothering to maintain their machinery that they use cut the knurl (that's why it's not as clean as Rogue's). They can sell that bar for $250 all day with free shipping and maintain excellent margins. This is the same company that sells the Anta weightlifting shoe which is a copy of the Romaleos 2 for $300. They think the American consumer is a moron, and I don't recommend people prove them right.
@BasementBrandon
@BasementBrandon 3 жыл бұрын
@@yevgeniyfiskin4781 While I agree there is a mark up, you also have to realize that Rogue is able to offer lower costs due to production and scale. Look at American Barbell's stainless power bar for $500 as a reference.

I’ve had this bar for about two weeks now. The knurl is sloppy, as stated in the video. To me, this is a deterrent as some peaks are cut off more than others. The lack of knurl consistency and all the metal shavings are less than desirable. In addition, the sleeve spin is not smooth at all. It’s like they are off axis and the shaft rubs the collar at one point in the revolution creating very abrupt stops. This has caused the bar to rotate out of my hands on pulls that I have done easily in the past. So, in my experience, the QC/rushed production has detracted from the value of this bar. To each their own, I guess.
