@BasementBrandon4 күн бұрын
Prob not the best to answer this but I'd look for a crosstraining bar that's around 28.5 mm with a medium to light center knurl. If you want to stick with Rogue something like the Chan bar would prob be most ideal.

Hi Brandon, I have about 16.5 inches of knee and 18 inches of calf. I have an XL size and they don't fit my calf even though my knee fits the right size on the size guide. Do you think going up a size is too little? Is an xxl or xxxl better? Because they are really hard! Thank you

This is a tough one. I would prob go up to a 3xl since you're on the border at 18". I would however try to order through amazon who is much more forgiving with returns if needed.

Loving it. BB reviewing a 29mm stainless IPF spec power bar with aggressive knurling. Everything is right in the world. The rep double black diamond bar has a beveled edge on the sleeve from memory? Any progress on selling the rack? Was it Irwin fitness you are replacing it with? Excited to see regardless!
@BasementBrandon6 күн бұрын
You know I ended up having a few bars with the beveled edge, but I've just been so consumed by IPF thin collars I only think about those bars lol. For my rack I haven't posted it yet b/c I"m not sure when the Irwin will show up. But hopefully soon!

One "hack" I've seen others mention that works GREAT with these is using a band for assisted dips. They fit great over the pins and provide excellent accommodating assistance with dips.

I’ve been looking at the rogue hybrid power bar. How do you think this compares for a general strength purpose? They’re the same price.
@BasementBrandon9 күн бұрын
The rogue is 28.5mm and has thicker collars than this. If you're looking for a general purpose power bar, the rogue may be better as for the reasons why comp collars turn some off who don't compete. The rogue has their aggro 2, which depending on your preference you might find perfect or a bit on the aggressive side.

The edge of Olympic equipment should have a radial bevel - there should not even be a 45 degree diagonal bevel. This is supposedly a requirement, but no one follows it. I have an EAKO barbell and it is the only one with all the edges on the radius including the collar too. A lot of models now have a large phase, but mostly they are still diagonal. The beam happens, but it is subtle, not a full beam. It's a deal, but it improves the fit and safety in the event of the bar falling, e.g. on the foot. it will still break, crush, but probably won't cut the skin
@BasementBrandon10 күн бұрын
Yeah good call, I think I was more surprised to see such a big taper on an IPF comp bar, none of my other ones have it, but a few of my other bars do (American Barbell, Texas, etc)

That is the lowest price that I've ever seen on a SS bar. This could be the bar that starts to bring the market for high quality barbells down to within reason. I'm okay with the prices, if I think a price on one is too high then I don't buy it. I just think along the lines if I was the manufacturer, I would get the price on the low end and sell more product because most of the time while they're buying your affordable product they are looking to buy other things, just makes more sense to me instead of charging $400 or more for a barbell. Eleiko charging $1000 -$1,200 is a joke to me. There has never been 2 barbells made by anybody that should cost what Eleiko charges for one. IMO, you would have to be in the buisness or be a fool to be one of those Eleiko bars.
@BasementBrandon10 күн бұрын
Given the price of stainless steel I would worry that getting a bar for "at cost" might be worrisome as well. From what I've seen in the market, average cost is around $400-$500.
@reginaldchesterfield811010 күн бұрын
I like that the knurling is a bit more grippy. I like that.
