Once I turned 50 and after my mother passed, I realized there was nothing I needed to do that I was already doing. I was a people pleaser. I no longer am available like that. I am presently embarking on a fashion journey. I'm trying to assess my style and embrace whatever that may be. I hear your voice in my head "Is this a timeless piece? Will it stand the test of time?" You've really made me think about fashion and where I want it to take me. Such a wonderful human being you are!

Lydia I know you don’t know me but I want you to know that I quit watching youtube videos like a year and a half ago for my mental health. I started watching them again about a month ago. Naturally I started watching you first. A week later I started a diet and 2 1/2 weeks later I’m down 9 pounds because of how you inspired me. I still have about 150 pounds to go but I’m so excited for how it’s going. I know it’s going to be hard but I think I can do it.

Ditto, like she said she was fitness influencing to begin with - never got accused for cosplaying Serena Williams, then beauty & fashion - never got accused of cosplaying Kim Kardashian, influenced interior decor - never got accused of cosplaying Kelly Hoppen, it’s bizarre to me, Lydia (unlike tonnes of others) has gone more for more a curated approach over the years, classic & still very high end luxury but girlfriend wasn’t allowed to sell about 50 (other high end brand) bags and buy a few Hermes bags … I’ve seen her get hammered for pronouncing something slightly off ….. she clearly loves the quieter, country life & has done for years … But now she’s cosplaying. Oh ok, must have missed that myself 😅 #hatersgonnahate

I loved this vlog so much! Being less materialistic and appreciating the small things in life is the biggest gift. It allows you to be so grateful for the Creation. I’m Muslim, I believe in God and I believe that the more good deeds you do and the more you are grateful for what He has given you, the more he will continue to bless you in this life and in the afterlife. Lyds, you are the perfect example of romanticizing one’s life… Of turning your life around and making conscious decisions to paint your life exactly like you imagined it. It starts with the tiniest steps, consistency and flexibility of the mind. It also requires a great ability to self reflect and trust yourself. Trusting yourself is freedom. oH MY DEAR: I turned 75 in May and am in the midst of re-imagining myself yet again. I watch your vlogs religiously and have taken so so much inspiration from you, regardless of the age gap I used to be a size 8 US/Can for most of my life. Then, in 2019 we went on a cruise and I added 5 lbs. just being totally self-indulgent in the wrong way. This was followed by Covid and another 10 lbs. and deep depression To top it all off, I slipped and fell down 8 hardwood stairs in my house and for the last year and 9 mos., have been dealing with acute back and hip pain and got very little help from the docs. In Feb of this year, I started walking, 5 mins at first and now up to 40 mins max. I live in a neighborhood of golf course paths, and lots of other paths that flow through the neighborhool with lovely trees and wild flowers. And I love it! So, that's the first thing I've noticed very recently after almost 5 mos. I should add that I was in the Bahamas for the winter, where we have a sma condo a few hundred yards from the ocean., which I also love. So, baby steps; one day at a time, I WILL get out my little notebook and start noticing more. Thank you for your compassion and honesty. PS I love style; interior design....always have, but will pay more attention to the joy it brings me.

For the burn we use silver sulfdiazine cream with antiseptic. It’s medical grade for burn patients in the ward. Once it scabs the silicon scar tape over it works really well to smooth and heal the area.

Secret to having your roses last longer inside….take a hammer to the stem before putting them in water in your vase of choice. Same with hydrangeas. They accept water more readily.

Thanks for talking about this Lydia. Ive recently hit rock bottom even though I moved to a place I always wanted to with my boyfriend and we have good times together I just wasn’t happy and then things happened and I had a loss and that made me so much more depressed and I didn’t think I would come out of it. Today I started working out again and I was thinking about the same things you are talking about in the video how I don’t want to look back and be like I didn’t have to feel this way and I hope that is the case that I don’t have to feel this way all my life, I can feel good again.

Lydia, yet another wonder time spent. I appreciate the tips on how to choose what brings us joy and peace of mind....contentment really. In my list that brings me joy is using lovely soaps in my shower. I have a basket with a lid that has all my soaps. I call it affordable luxury for myself. I just love it. Those French type soaps are so nice also. ❤

Ive been watching you since before you got married, so quite a while now. I watch all your videos, I haven't missed one and I have to say this was one that made me very happy to watch. It was so uplifting, especially the lusting after Ali lol Good for you for discovering your happy life!

One thing that everyone needs to understand is the power of choice. As adults, we have the ability to choose: where we work, where we live, the people we keep company with, what we eat, how we spend our free time, etc. When you understand this, then you will feel empowered to make the changes you need and want to make, in order to make improvements which will lead to greater health (physical and mental) and contentment. I fully agree with Mrs. Lydia that we need to gain greater introspection and constantly evaluate and reevaluate what we are doing that is both making us content and that is leading to discontentment. Most importantly, after identifying what needs to change in our lives action must be taken in order to do so. This takes bravery, hard work, and motivation. Also, I love the gentleman's hair cut. Gentlemen today have a tendency to cut their hair too short (almost military style) so it is nice to see a clean cut that is flattering (reminds me of Jason Priestly in the early years of Beverly Hills 90210). Keep enjoying and living your best lives!

A burn will not hurt or even blister if you'll cut open an aloe vera plant leaf and hold against the burn right away. I always keep one in the kitchen.

Absolutely lovely vlog. What a heavenly day pottering in the garden in the sunshine. Lived all the Sinead Keery pieces, so glamorous. Also I totally agree about feeling good, - the best form of exercise is the one you love doing because then you will keep going! Love those small pockets of joy in romanticising every day life ❤
