I’m fine with this hogging thing. BUT WHY DO TIE FORELOCK!!

He’s a show cob, it’s the breed standard turnout. You would get laughed out of the show if he/she turned up with a forelock at HOYS lol

Only reason I disliked this video was because there was absolutely no explanation.

I don't like it when people hog their horses' manes. It's not pretty at all. I'd never hog my horse.

@@DamnItMantis that's your opinion. it's sometimes needed in certain disciplines or to make the horse look neater if they have a rubbed or ragged mane. you dont have to hog your horses but that doesnt mean other people have to leave their horses un-hogged if they would like to hog.

Why would tou do that????

This is etiquette in the UK for certain breeds/ stamp of horses for the show ring. You would generally only do this to heavier weight horses of non native breeds I believe.

Emily Anderson thx for your reply! :) We don't really do that here in canada... or when we do we leave the forelock... :)

+Horsepassion4life when we hog a mane in Australia we take off the mane and thin out the forelock slightly but they still have a forelock there
