MIRV was playing a show along with Fishbone and Primus at the Palladium in LA back in ‘94. Brian Kehoe who breathed fire 🔥 had misplaced his usual Bacardi 151 and someone gave him Everclear. When he blew his flame there was a draft in the place and carried that flame all the way up to the stage curtains above the stage. Well they were banned for the rest of the tour using flames in their set but it just happened to be that Gene Simmons was there watching the show. After the show backstage, Mirv and crew were shooting the shit with Stephen Perkins (drummer Jane’s Addiction/Porno 4 Pyros) and in walks Gene. Fully clad in leather and wearing sunglasses he just walked right into the middle of the conversation circle. He looked at the band and said, “YOU guys are good…”, smiled and left the room. “Was that…??? …Yes it was. ;)
