Hi all welcome back to another video Dereck Reacts back at it again! This time around we take a look at a PATREON request with M Matthieu Chedid "Le Complexe du Corn Flakes." M really goes crazy with this live song as hit strums some of the biggest rock classic hits like AC/DC and others. His onstage set-up and energy is pure adrenaline and engaging. See my wow reaction now!

the beginning purposely sounds like Jimi Hendrix's Purple Haze, and what's really impressive about M is that during his shows he's LITTERALY a one-man-orchestra it's amazing. You should react to a live version of his song "Grand Petit Con", during his live performances he can hold the guitar solo and walk around in the audience for a long time !

It's quite rare to see a singer so talented on the Instruments. Usually singers can just play some simple guitar's parts. Very talented guy. I'm not a fan of all his music but I really respect him. Another great singer/guitarist is Thomas Dutronc. He's more into jazz though. M and Dutronc did a live performance together, playing their guitar. About cornflakes, something totally different: Hot Butter "popcorn". First big hit with synths (1972). It's a cover of the original popcorn (1969) created by Gershon Kingsley, a synth pioneer in the 60's

Yeah ! Thanks Dereck Le complexe du corn flakes talks about how little he feels compared to the americans rock legends. That why he's playing famous americans rock songs I'd advice the "Qui de nous deux" or "Bal de Bamako" music videos And for live performances : "Ma melodie" 2005, kzfaq.info/get/bejne/edhjfKd60L6ocqM.html "Tanagra" 2011(with Johnny Hallyday) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/otKffJye2dXHm40.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iq1ogrJ32ZbOqKM.html Here's a link about his drums automatons

6:23 yeah this is AC/DC's "Back in Black", 8;08 is "7 nation army" by the White Stripes, 9:26 is Thunderstruck by AC/DC as well \m/ The "pop corn complex" (somewhat related to te NIH (not invented here) syndrome) refer to the fact that he pretends he couldn't do as well as foreign musicians. But he proves wrong by interpreting the famous guitar solos of many artists/groups like Jimmy Hendricks, AC/DC, The White stripes, and others.

Didn’t read the section but you should know « Le complexe du corn flakes » is about France not being a rock and roll culture and always will have a complexe with the Americans that way. 3:16 he sings : « Ce sera toujours moins bien. Toujours moins bien que les ricains ». It says it all, and that’s why it became a medley. This live version is from 2019 whilst the original is from 1998-99. I could tell you a lot about him. There are multiple faces to this character. I’m filled with joy seeing you reacting to this. Cheers from France.

M, one of the best guitarists and a fantastic performer. I attended many of his concerts, at one of them he simply did not want to stop playing. After at least 30mn extras, the other guys stopped, he went backstage, removed his make up and came back in jeans, alone with his guitar, and continued playing while sitting on the stage. Incredible. Would you like to know what he tells about in this song? He says that he won't never be as strong, talented , good, as the american, he meens american musicians, that's why he plays Hendrix's, ACDC and so on " ça sera toujours moins bien que les ricains", it will always be not as good as the americans". In french, "ricains" means americans, it's sweet , gentle slang. J'ai le complexe du corn flakes: corn flakes is in the american's culture, so complexe du corn flake. Oh by the way: he worked a lot with Vanessa Paradis.
