In India parents discourage sports and stress upon education because if you are not educated enough how will you get a job. ( I can tell you for sure almost every body who is commenting here is atleast a graduate from a college, which is a hugeeeee thing in US) MS Dhoni gets a job in Indian Railways and the job was checking on people who were travelling ticket less. MS Dhoni gets disturbed from inside as not able to pursue his passion he quits his govt job and decides to pursue cricket ( In India quitting a Govt Job is called foolhardy because a govt job gives you pension when you are not working and retired) MS Dhoni went on to become India's most successful cricket captain. Under him India lifted T 20 cricket world cup and ICC world cup. He is still playing for India not as a captain, but as a wicket keeper batsman.
