Pulled the trans last weekend....first time. Almost ready to yank the old S52 out....have a fresh rebuilt one ready to go in with all ARP head/main studs and rod bolts. 10lb JB fflywheel. Fresh clutch. Mod to the oil pan with baffles. Stewart water pump. Hopefully by the time life is back to normal with covid I'll be able to take it out for a track day. Keep up the great work, gents!

That steering wheel needs some love, bruh. When you get to rewrapping it, you might want to consider doing it with alcantara leather. Feels good on hands and gives some race car vibes ;) Of course it wears out a lot faster than real leather.. Keep up the good work and God bless you and JD.

Doing a similar project currently on an 89 is in Oz. Even less rust fortunately although you scared me how hidden some of it was. So glad ours doesn’t have a sun roof. What did you do about the dashboard or don’t they crack in NZ? I need to find same original basket weave wheels also are they 15”? If you know of more hiding in NZ please let me know. Surprised you didn’t do brake upgrade and go for 5 hole wheels. Also, did you restore the dash instrument display as usually a few battery issues there by this age causing gremlins. Lots of videos and replace all bulbs with new everywhere you can in the dash and hvac console. Air conditioning another problem getting the original compressors serviced is impossible. Keep up the great work. Putting that wiring back in looks like mission impossible.

Definitely gotta stick with the oem stereo.i actually found a guy on a forum a while back who had the oem E36 'business' deck and he retrofitted a Bluetooth receiver inside of it. Now I have the oem dash/stereo but I can stream my phone through it. Super slick and actually works really well. Might be same solution for your model.
