do you think that switching fields between different branches of engineering is viable? i will be graduating with a chemical engineering degree this year and have a core job in hand but i dont want to stay in chemical engineering and switch to tech but our college doesnt allow for chem students to sit in cs placements this year because of the recession and almost 99% of the off campus roles i have seen require a circuit branch degree so i was thinking of getting an mtech in CS or CDS to make the switch. what are your thoughts on it?

Yes you can. Many non-cse students have moved to CSE and did well. Definitely you can switch to CSA/CDS and I am sure you will end up in a good product based company.

Sorry for very late response, If you want to have a flavour of higher studies and specialization then go for Mtech. If you anyway want a job with better salary, go for Job switching

I asked HOD, he said me there will be interview. For safe side start preparing for it. If it doesnot happen no risk.

@@kishalaydas bro still not able to apply to this it showing portal is closed. So basically i didn't able to find a way to fill up a form and submit it like i did 2 days ago on IIsc website. I am getting 65.67 marks in set 2 in CSE paper 2024 so i think i have chance to get it but in meantime don't know how to apply and there is no information available on KZfaq also regarding this.
