What I found out on Gunboards forum "That's so that they could use the readily available M1893 pattern bayonets that fit on the 1893 and 1916 Mausers already in stock." If you remove the lower one, a m1924 will fit.

Lol...nice thing is, I was able to straighten it out without breaking it.

I got the $200 one I think which had some pitting, and the handguard was pinned and glued to the stock, however it was all numbers matching with a good bore. I also just recently ordered a $98 fixer upper as well, waiting on it to arrive. If you want a safe queen I would not recommend it, but if you want one that you dont have to worry about to just be a shooter, I dont see an issue with it. That being said you could end up with a worse one than mine, it just depends on what you're willing to accept.

They did ship regular usps, I paid $28.50, and I live in the same county as them.

As a side note, may sure you check out my other video on it where I tore it down...it's an eye opener, so to speak.

@@The_Casual_Collector OK Thanks .. I am in IDAHO not to far from TN. i think the USPS shipping must be much more than FEDX or UPS. They told me it would be $47.00 when i sent my check and copy of my FFL to them 2 months ago. When i do finally GET the RIFLE i gonna make a unboxing video and tell the story in full. @@The_Casual_Collector Ya i saw that too .. you know really the STOCK was the only thing that kinda bug me thoughs DOWELS were rooky fix. The rust was .. well fixable i guess. The one i ordered was $122.88 LOL OK LATER.

So I sent a check. In the email, I was asking to confirm the total cost including rifle, plus shipping, plus hand select fee. I used this info to make out an invoice to send to them along with my check and a wet ink copy of my C&R license.
