Thanks for the video. I just bought a 14 Jetta as a commuter for my wife and I. We were tired of filling up our Ford Expedition three times a week going back and forth to our office. I was aware that the car needed a new wheel bearing when we bought it and that was acceptable to us given the decent price on the car. The next day while driving to work up a steep hill (we live in a very hilly area) and trying to give it some throttle, the EPC light, traction control, and check engine lights all came on and the car lost power and began intermittently stuttering and shaking. I got concerned and cruised KZfaq University and found your video and few others like it. I kept my cool and took my car to the local parts store to have them scan the code for me. Misfires on cylinder 3 were detected. First thing I checked was the coils and sure enough the one for cylinder 3 was very badly corroded. I decided that for the money I would have paid to have a shop take care of this for me I might as well do a full tune up. Replaced all plugs and coils and it’s running peppier and smoother than ever! Now all we need to do is get that wheel bearing taken care of. Thanks for putting out informational content like this that gives normal guys like me the courage to attempt to take care of problems like these by ourselves and save our families money better spent elsewhere!

Coolant is level, changed all six plugs with Tridium spark plugs. Now I am going to test the coil packs on that side. But today I went out for a good drive and used the paddles to shift and I was going pretty good through the gears and the light never came on once.

EPC error may be associated with ABS Module \ ABS Sensor. #1 thing to check especially if you have EPC + ABS - \ + No speedometer. (Front Left ABS Sensor cleaning\Check, clean tone ring with air and brake cleaner through the abs sensor hole and check wires\connectors. (you can rotate the tire wth wheels off ground to turn tone ring as you use a straight metal brush to knock rust off the tone ring along with brake clean and air, Not wd-40. In some cases EPC has been repaired by cleaning the throttle body or finding bad wires. Other stuff from google below: throttle pedal, throttle body, traction control, or cruise control unit

I have a 2012 A4 48k Miles. The EPC Light goes on when the tank is full or when its a little under half on a cold start. The way we start the car up is by stepping on the break and accelerator at the same time(it's an auto). Doesn't give any issues while driving throughout the day but I don't think it's sustainable to keep driving this way. I'll get those iCarsoft Diagnotic Reader to try figure it out. Do you have any idea what it could be from my description?

Hi! I have a 2012 VW Passat. Recently got an oil change. Currently headed back home to VA from SC. Car drove perfectly until yesterday. Left my car idling for about an hour, went to drive it the EPC light came on as well as an err message on my dash. Car went into limp mode. I couldn’t accelerate past 15 mph. Turned off the engine, turned it back on and was able to accelerate but at a slow rate, rpms were at 4000 but I wasn’t going very fast. Now the check engine light is on as well as the maintenance symbol. It’s Memorial Day, shops aren’t open and there aren’t any rental trucks available to tow my car. I’m hoping I’ll make it home, I have 358 miles to go. Do you have an idea what the problem could be?

Wife drove my ‘12 S4 through high water last night. Made it home okay. I drove it today to make sure everything was running well, when I jumped on it at highway speed, I threw the EPC light. Ran like crap until home and I shut it down and restarted the car. Ran fine, light still on. Wondering if moisture is the problem here? FYI, have an APR big brake kit up front. Any suggestions?

Hey, I’m needing help as well. I have a Audi Q5 2011. The epc and engine light is on I took it to the fuel station and it was shaking pretty bad. I nursed it home. It said it needed oil urgently so we put oil in it. We ended up doing a full oil change and changed oil filter and there was a lot of oil in it. So we are thinking the sensor was wrong and we overfilled that. But we are still having the same problem with epc/engine light. But now the vehicle won’t turn on. So we aren’t sure what to do? Hey Ivans, I have a Audi A6 Quattro sedan 2013 and done 91k km. Few weeks ago the gearbox light was on and I tolled the car to a transmission specialist and they fixed my gearbox. When I took my car the day before yesterday, it says brake pads need to be changed as well. So I took my car to the nearest shop and get the brake pads changed yesterday. And I put some petrol in it and then the machine oil light was on. So I went home and added 3L of machine oil that I usually use. Today when I drive to work, the car running smoothly. But when I finish work and on my way home, the EPC light was on and the car was shaking badly and the power of the car is very week. Do you think the problem can be related to the gearbox I just fixed? Or related to brake pads I just changed? Or related to the petrol and machine oil I just added? Or maybe something else happens? I have Tiguan Allspace 1.4TSI. Drive it about 15k kms or 9k miles since since new, 9 months back. My EPC light came twice at 1k miles and 9 months later at 9k miles (recent) with rough idle, shaking, and the car cant be driven normally (has no enough power), like misfire. Weird thing is in both ocassions, the car went back to normal after restarting the engine, EPC light dissapear like nothing happened. Took to dealer for checking at 2k miles and error log identified as misfire in all cylinder. They did cleaning the injector, tune up, checking the plugs, and update ECU software. What is the problem if guys here have the similar experience?

Also if your warranty is close to expiring, you want to look over the car, scan the codes and that way you catch any issues that can be fixed under the warranty. That can save you $$$$$. I may do a video on it.

Ok I have been troubleshooting for the last 2 days and I am fed up. I need this car (my wife's) to be usable! Audi a3 2006. I was troubleshooting the oil sensor by checking for the 5 amp fuse which governs it before I go replacing the sensor. After I checked and reseated the fuses, I restarted the car and had the epc light but no check engine light. The engine is definitely gimped now. I have tried to perform the reset but the fault will not reset. I can't even reset it by disconnecting the battery. I need help if possible please. Is there something I messed up in the fuse box or is it a freak electrical fault?

My epc light came on car went into to limp mode while driving out of town had to get it towed to a nearest mechanic.. he fixed my fuel pump sense ran fine for the weekend.. when I was on my way back home Same problem happened epc light came on and went into limp mode… got it towed to a mechanic back home and mechanic couldn’t find anything wrong with it??? He said 3 codes came up which were engine control module-fuel pump & fuel rail/ system pressure… but when he checked them he said they were fine and he was confused and why they were coming up… he didn’t do any work on my car because he said he couldn’t find any issues and didn’t want to charge me for a fix I “didn’t need” now I don’t know what to do and I don’t trust my car to drive out of town which sucks bc I travel for work and am stuck on what to do about the situation… thinking of selling it at this point

Just bought a a5 2010 3.2 with 142k on it. Changed spark plugs, battery, coil packs, and got a new air filter on the way cause it was pretty rough. When just putting the key in the ignition the epc light appears. When firing up the car, it goes away and idles fine. The main issue is when running for about 15 minutes, epc light on, and the car is an earthquake. The shaking is from idle to around 2500 rpm and when i give it more gas then i should it accelerates smooth, and when it’s decelerating with no gas it’s also smooth, until it comes to an idle then it shakes again. And when i say it shakes i mean like it SHAKE SHAKES. After letting it sit for 15 minutes it starts up fine and idles fine but after driving for 10-15 minutes, shaking again until i shut it off. Anyone got any idea to what it could be?

Just got my car back from service... two days later and about 200 miles EPC light came on. I stopped the car, turned it off for a minute and then turned the car back on. EPC Light was not on. So I am guessing either my dealer fucked something up, or some weird coincidence fate came knocking. My S4 has been meticulously serviced... but hey its a car.

If you did it yourself the only way it would be over $200 is if your troghtle body went out. Then $340-$560
