Terrific video! Wow! Okay. Here we go! It all started with the ESP light coming on, "ding!" VW dealer said that my 4Motion was down, but I could drive as a front wheel only car. Hmm. Okay. Then, at about 40 mph the ECR and the emergency brake lught went on simultaneously, and the trans downshifted to 2nd gear. Bad news! Went back to VW and they told me to buy a new car. My budget says not! I noticed that the ESP is OFF! Hmm. Last thing. I had to have the electronic emergency brake system fixed, and that included used parts for a module that is no longer available! Fo I just hive up on my otherwise wonderful 07 Passat 3.6liter 4 motion wagon. I love it! Thank you!

Thanks for the advice. My brother-in-law has an 06 Jetta (175,000 miles) with an ETC light issue but the dealer and other mechanics aren't willing to try one thing first. It's all or nothing the the car value may not support the charges. Your videos showed how I can tackle his problem(s) without breaking the bank. I’ve been struggling to fix an EPC light for more then two weeks now. Original code was p0341 camshaft position sensor. Replaced it but didn’t fix the issue. This video is by far most useful as far as which direction I should go.

I just changed my throttle body, gasket cover, spark plugs and a coil cover. The difference was night and day. I drove it for an evening. Then i decided to take the negative off battery to see if the code lights would be rest. Instead, the car now just cranks and no turnover. While cranking, there are zero RPMs showing. I did notice prior to doing the bit of work the car would crank longer than normal and then start. I even had to pump the pedal once or twice to get things started. Of course now im dead in the water. Im going to replace the crankshaft sensor as shown in your video. I hope this is my problem. I have a 2008 VW Jetta 2.5L thanks

So I had the EPC light and could not go more then 2000 rpm, a lot of here and there, but in the end I got a connector (the one from throttle body) from junk yard, and that's it. 👍

2012 Passat 2.5l (140k) I have a EPC with long crank and dies out randomly. After 5 restarts and 10 min+ of driving the light goes away (Intermittently). Changed cam/crank sensors OEM. And the VVT solenoid what should I do.

epc light being coming on once every two weeks and my scanner picks up two fault codes p233700 cylinder above knock threshold and p102f00 torque limitation due to fuel pressure, any help would be appreciated thanks

-Check engine light came on two weeks ago and shows codes P0422 (small EVAP system leak), P0455 (large EVAP systemleak), P0456 (very small EVAP system leak) & P0507 (idle control system-Rpm higher than expected) on 2013 VW CC. Car was still driving fine until yesterday when the EPC light came on and Check Engine light started flashing along with the engine stalling and shaking. Was able to drive the short distance home. Turned car on after letting it sit for two hours and EPC light was gone but turned on again after ten minutes in idle along with the engine shaking. Checked gas cap & doubt it's the throttle. Anyone have any similar issue or suggestions on possible cause???

I'm driving a 2014 vw polo vivo (revised version of the polo 9n3 in south Africa) I have had an epc light nd my brake lights dnt work only the centre boot spoiler brake light works which is constantly on wen the car is in ignition or wen the car is on , I have replaced the brake light switch 4 times this year alone nd the fifth time last week . I'm purchasing the switch from the dealer constantly nd it also sits by the master cylinder in the engine bay , also I have replaced the brake lights relay iv checked all my fuses in the fuse box all check out fine .. Are there any tips u could assist me with in further troubleshooting ? Is there any step I'm missing wen installing the switch on the master cylinder ? Any advise please I will welcome .. I have a multimeter any checks I can do on the switch itself as I cannot even fathom wat is wat on the pins is there any tips on checking continuity on the connector ? I'm very sceptical of gng to the dealer as they will replace all items u have listed as common faults they are capable of such . please help

hey man I got a epc light and it stalled soon after fired back up took a second was warm the next day cold start took forever got it started stalled a few times after warm it ran fine. next day crank no start I changed tb changed crank shaft sensor intake sensor cam sensor and I got it started ran really rich bad backfires epc light went away. when it fired up after I turned it off just crank no start again any ideas I was thinking it may have jumped timing a tooth or something or bad coils I had slight issues with coils befor hand otherwise I'm stumped

I am able to drive it but it when I accelerate it seems to be like a bumby when getting passed 30. I took it to autozone and codes are (P0300, P0304, P0302) I changed my mass air flow sensor and my spark plugs and nothing seems to work

My EPC light and traction light came on. We pulled over and switch the engine off. My wife turned the car back on in the lights were still there so she proceeded to turn it back off and upon turning it back on the lights were off and we were able to drive. The car allowed us to drive almost 600 miles before the light came back on. Now this time when the light came on I pulled over and switched the engine off and turned it back on and the lights cleared and we proceeded home. Does this sounds more like a sensor issue?

Hi I have a 2004 volkswagen passat and had the epc light come out a few days ago in which after idling for a little the car died on me. I had to try turning it on again and it did but felt a bit weak and shaky. It's done this a few times randomly but it seems to happen when the car is idling.

Hey man! I got a 2012 2.5 volkswagen jetta and im having a issue with my jetta. Last week i was at a red light and had my car on drive and it just turned off on me. I noticed the epc light came on. I put the car on park and it turned on right away with no issues afterword. A week later the same thing happened. The car just turns off when i have it on drive and im at a stop. And the epc light comes on and then goes away once i turn on the car. Its concerning me now. Have any ideas what it could be? Thanks

Hello 👋. I have a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta “Wolfsburg Edition” 1.8t. Let say I be driving for 20 minutes and I’ll stop at a red light and next thing I know the car won’t start this has happened to me at least 3 times and what I do is I’ll find a spot to park it and let it rest for an hour. After an hour has gone by I try starting the car and the car works again.once the epc shows up on the dashboard also check engine light and the battery are on as well. I clean the throttle body but that didn’t help at all. So I order a new throttle body that comes with the black sensor on the side bc I think it might be that but that won’t come in a couple weeks. Let me know what u think 🤔

Bro. 2008 vw passat 2.0 turbo. Epc light damn disaster. 2 throttle bodies in and accelerator replacement vaccum leak fix etc etc. Damn epc light is still on. Still throwing codes for the damn throttle body. At wits end with no end in sight and 3400 in on this thing. Any suggestions??

Hey Boss man, I gotta situation going on with my 2015 gti yesterday,during accelerating my car is not pulling as much it used to do and when i do accelerate i can hear the fan sound through my went(only when i accelerate or when i try to go fast).And hours later EPC showed up on my dash board,i went to the mechanic near by and got this P0087 code,asked me to go to the dealership. All of a sudden The EPC turned off its coming and going ! But still my car doesnt have that much power and makes this sound when i accelerate. What do u think is goin on? Thanks

Ahhhh much better, thank you, this one showed all the bonus footage such as other sensors. I replaced the throttle body on a 2009 VW Jetta 2.5. The EPC light was on. I disconnected the negative side of the battery so that the unit can relearn itself. The car true we on for 2 minutes then it died on it’s on :/. The EPC light is not on anymore, but the same symptom is there. The original code I had was P0322. New code that came up P1035 after installing new Throttle body. One note I did not clear the codes. I don’t know how to. Can you please assist me with this. Thank you

Good afternoon, can u help plz. I have a VW Tiguan 2009. The engine check light and the EPC lamp are both illuminated. The display showed up the message 'Engine fault workshop'. When I accelerate it doesn't go past 30 and has a hard vibration. I have taken it to several mechanics. They have changed the coil packs, the fuel pressure sensor was changed, the oxygen sensor was changed, one mechanic said I needed to replace the manifold and this was done. The throttle body was changed. Non of the above has resolved the vehicles problem. Any assistance you may be able to render would be highly appreciated.

My 09 2.5L Jetta will go about 20miles then jerk like hell and throw the light. I’ve changed out the throttle body with no changes. Anyone have a clue where I should go from here? Thanks

Alright my EPC light came on yesterday. I noticed it didn't have as much power when accelerating but not much else. It went off when I turned the car off and hasn't came back on but when it's in low gear it makes a whining or clicking sound. I notice maybe a little less power and seems like it's burning more gas.

My man.. first off, if you happen to see this and respond, I am beyond grateful for your time. So EPC light came on after driving car somewhat rough one day due to being late somewhere. No other lights on at all. Epc light will shut off if you turn the car off and only comes on if I punch the gas. If I punch gas light comes on and won't allow car to accelerate very quickly. Ive searched high and low through endless videos and forums. With your experience are you able to tell me what direction you'd go in if it were your vehicle? I'm about to take throttle body off and check for carbon build up per someone else's suggestion. Ive been running regular unleaded and was told that can be very bad for it... any advice?

I can't find the throttle body in my area would cleaning around the butterfly flap and replacing the gasket restore it to new? Or is there something in the electrical components side that would negate cleaning the throttle body?
