This is a diagnostics video on how to determine what is causing your air loss thru the intake stack. This happens with the pedal depressed it will massively dump air thru the intake beside your head. This is how to figure out if it is a Q2 valve on the front of the truck that deals with the front axle brakes.
It also helps on determining which service brake diaphragms on which axle you are looking for to replace.

I have a m923 a2 that just started leaking air off to the horn at about 60psi. And blaring the horn none stop and now it won't reach operating air pressure. Any idea what's causing this? It's been below freezing for weeks could a valve be froze up?

Pressure protection valve opens at 60. You have a bad diode at the horn probably. At current your Pressure protection valve is frozen up.

Wes have a M923A2 and a couple of weeks ago went to drive it and no air pressure registering on either gauge????

If you know you are building air pressure there are 2 air lines at the brake pedal on the gas pedal side. Rig up a known good air pressure gauge off of one of those ports those feed the gauges

@@wessimpson2794 I am not building air pressure and am looking to use the glad hand to pressurize the system and see if I can hear a leak somewhere. As I face the front of the truck there are 2 glad hand hookups, one on the right side that has a valve knob on it and then one on the left side that does not have a valve to turn..was wondering which side I should hook up the air compressor to, in order to put air in the system and search for a leak without the engine running (because I can't hear anything with the engine running)? Thanks, John

@@johnminker7061 drivers front or passengers rear you can use either of those. However I recommend removing the discharge line from the back of the compressor on the engine and rigging the input pressure there so you are simulating a compressor using the gladhands doesn't get air to all parts of the system. Where are you located?

@@johnminker7061 good ways away I am in Memphis I am fairly sure you either have a stuck purge valve on the air dryer or the unloader on the compressor is stuck Those are the 2 most common things. The wet tank on the passengers inside frame rail has 2 shut off valves one top and one front. You can shut these once the air starts going up to 120psi to find which side has the leak. My 9 series truck builds pressure fine 135 psi give or take. But after driving it for a period of time it stops building psi. Any ideas. Let it sit. Come back and it builds 135 psi again

When the truck builds to pressure and purges. Remove the small metal line going to the top of the air compressor. See if it has air on it constantly. If yes. Replace the air governor. If no and the compressor is not running then remove and clean the unloader

Wes Simpson I drove it 300 miles last night from Michigan to Ohio. And it did this a few times to me during the trip. Came out this am and fired it up and it built great pressure and purged just like it’s supposed to. My low air light doesn’t come on or the alarm.

@@3pedalracing138 i am simp5782 on steelsoldiers if you are not a member Remember the compressor and air dryer see a different air pressure than your gauges read. The dash gauges are showing primary and secondary tanks at the brake pedal. The compressor sees air from the wet tank via the pressure protection valve. The primary and secondary tanks have check valves to prevent back flow into the wet tank. So your wet tank may show 80 psi to the compressor but your tanks show you 125

Wes Simpson I’m not a member but will join. Unfortunately with all these terms I don’t know what the items are your talking about. Wet tank and stuff. Sorry I’m very new to these trucks and air brake systems. Where are you located ?

@@3pedalracing138 Memphis but I travel all over. I try to avoid areas like Ohio since they don't pave the roads there. I'm sure you are hurting. Michigan is horrible
