The other factor is that the oil companies are gun shy. Millions of dollars were spent on the Keystone XL pipeline to get all the approvals and start building it only to have Biden stop it before they can recoup any of that money invested. Are they willing to take a chance and spend millions to develop a new oil field only to have the war in Ukraine end all of a sudden and Biden pull all the permits? I know if I were in the oil business, I would be hesitant to making new developments as long as the Democrats were in charge.

You really don't see the connections. Because Putin invaded Ukraine, Europe stopped it's import of oil from Russia, about 2.2 million barrels a day. Because of this, Europe needed oil from some other source, and the US stepped up to provide some, about 1.2 million barrels a day; and other countries did the same. It is called helping out our friends in need in order to support Ukraine in it's fight for freedom against Putin and Russia. And supply and demand. Given this, I can only assume you do not support freedom and the fight for it among our friends and neighbors, when they are attacked. Or is it that you care about nothing but yourself, and Ukraine be damned? Oil is a globally traded commodity and world events from the pandemic to the invasion WILL impact it. Economics is a complicated subject and easy, pat, one word word answers will not suffice. Blackburn might have learned that, had she listened to the answers instead of cutting off the secretary, or talking over her. Can you say performative art?
