I used to work sa PPSTA ( Philippine Public school Teachers Association) walking distance lng sa Ma Mon Luk Banawe 😊 early part of the 80's. Every end of the month I' d go there to buy Chicken Mami for take out. Favourite of my husband. Masarap talaga!!!

The Ma Mon Luk siomai looks a lot smaller than when we went there as a child. I remember one piece was the size of a small bowl.

Ma Mon Luk basta mami at siopao, grabe may extra soup pa. Sarap kumain dyan right after attending Holy Mass at Quiapo Church. Then few meters away sa may bandang Sta. Cruz Church andyan naman ang Ramon Lee. Huh mga pioneer na yan mga resto na yan.

Mike last April went home and at least went to Mamon Luk five times. My dad used to bring home siopao n Mami especially on payday. Growing up with it!! I know the distinct smell of the soup! There’s a trick in eating that soup. Third generation of the family love it too!! Thanks

Ma mon luk is food for the soul. Precious and delicious memories: my parents used to bring all of us kids there after attending Sunday Mass in Santo Domingo. And the times Dad would come home late on a weekday with Ma Mon Luk mami as pasalubong - will always remember the smell, the brown paper bag, taking out the thick plastic bag of soup, and then pouring it on the noodles. Iba ang sarap at nostalgia talaga.

Napakasarap tlaga ng siopao nila at yung mami jan sa,Ma Mon luk. I was teenager pa noon at kapag lumalabas kmi ng mother q wayback 80's pa at sa my Cubao pa noon abg branch nila.Miss qna mga food jan at gusto q din ipatikim sa mga anak q.

Masarap po talaga chicken mami at siopao sa mamon luk...every time nagsisimba ako sa quiapo church ay kakain muna ako dyan sa mamon luk..kya lng wala na po un branch nila sa quiapo...sa banawe nlang po ata ang natitirang mamon luk..sir mike try nyo po ung globe lumpia sa gonzalo puyat ung dating raon..lapit sa quezon blvd.

We had the same reaction as kids. My mom took us to Ma Mon Luk and we didn't like the noodles at all. She shook her head and called us ignoramus lol! Now that I'm wiser and have traveled, I realise she schooled us well.

I have eaten at Ma Mo Luk a 100 times why ? I studied at Angelicum School. There are times , I eat at that place. Back in the 1970. Our house is just in Calamba QC. There used to be a chicken and siopo just beside Ma Mo Luk.

naging suki nmin noon yan Ma Mon Luk...lalo na yun sa Cubao..may urban legend noon na pusa dw yun gingamit sa siopao...pero alam ko na sa amin galing yun pork na ginagamit nila..naalala ko pa pg Chinese New Year,pinpadalahan nila kme ng 1 sakong siopao...yun sako na gingamit flour na gingamit nila sa siopao..icon talaga sila

I didn’t realize that Ma Mon Luk’s original building was along Banawe Street; Akala ko dati noon sa Cubao , malapit sa Uniwide or ng Isetan. Yes, Ma Mon Luk is a legend; I don’t care kung meron pang mas masarap na Siomai, pero siya ang babalikan ko ‘pag umuwi ako; iba kase ang nakagisnan at nag-iwan sa’yo ng lasa na nanuot ‘di lang sa iyong dila kundi naging parte siya ng buhay mo lalu na’t eksakto lang ang baon ko; at isa siya sa laging nasa listahan ‘pag merong sobrang perang pang-garanatcha! Hanep talaga!, ang sarap!

Ikanga god-tier ang level netong food trip selection niyo this time, Ginoong Mark. Edad tatlong taon ako dinala diyan nung 1973 ni erpat sa Quezon Ave na MA Mon Luk. I wouldn't trade that memory ng first time ko kumain diyan for anything! Ang aroma talaga I only equate with good vibes, as in dyed-in-the-wool happy thoughts. Nag trabaho ako sa MA MOM LUK BACK 1970 Cahera ako sa Banawe QC ang tinda namin noon ay Mami Siopao and siomai lang ..Talagang masarap ang siopao nila ang siomai at Mami nila . Lagin puno kami noon ng costomer Marami kaming waiter noon ganoonkalakas ang .MA MON LUK

For me, one the best mami & siopao yung sa Ma Mon Luk. Nilipad pa talaga namin from Davao to taste this iconic merienda of Filipinos. Sa sobrang takam namin dun sa kanilang food, hinintay talaga namin ng 8am bago sila magbukas. 🍜

My last dining experience at a Ma Mon Luk was about 30 years ago at their Quiapo location. I was with my friends and it was not a good experience. The soup was bland, the bowls were chipped and cracked and the place was filthy. Maybe it was already late in the afternoon and they're low on soup so they've watered it down. We never went back there again. When I was pre-teen, I would accompany my aunt every friday at Quiapo church and after the mass we would eat there and it was good back then.

I remember the old good days, walang restaurant na katulad and Mamonluk NOSTALGIC VERY institutional na sa mga oldies na katulad ko. I'm not sure if the millennial will appreciate the smell of the restaurant itself but for us ageis..we do. I remember the Mamonluk besides Hongning in Aurora Blvd in cubao where me and my girlfriend frequently eat after movies. That's why everytime I come home from USA always try to go to Mamonluk in Quezon Ave. Never will na magsasawa ako to eat that chicken Mami and special siopao....now I'm hungry....

Remember growing up in Cubao back in the 80’s …. Thats bloody yummy chicken mami and siopao… nothings beats it I reckon…cant wait to go home again and try it…. The lam tim noodle feast nah a fan…. Anyway cheers mate for doing this episode!

Growing up in Cubao QC, I absolutely Loved the food from Ma Mon Luk! Our school is a little far from our house, so we have to take a jeepney ride to go to school. We did not have a large allowance, so my friends and I actually just walked to and from school so we could save the jeepney fare and we would stop by MA Mon Luk on the way home to buy the siopaw. M y mom was wondering why my rubber shoes were getting worn out so fast and she had to buy new ones too often. She didn't know I was walking to & from school everyday just so I can save the fare so I could buy siopaw. All the dishes were delicious, but my fave was the pansit Canton and the stir fried ampalaya which they cook w/o bitterness

I think around late 80’s and early 90’s we used to have Ma Mun Luk sa westborough south san francisco. Miss their siopao. Thanks for sharing will visit that place. On my next visit sa pinas 👍
