KZfaq cooking sensation ‪@Maangchi‬ shares the perfect recipe for a lunchbox: beef bulgogi lettuce wraps. Her recipe, which is featured in her new cookbook “Maangchi's Big Book of Korean Cooking,” is a classic Korean dish made with toasted sesame seeds, white rice, homemade ssamjang (spicy fermented soybean paste), filet mignon, and Bibb lettuce. Maangchi marinates the thinly sliced meat with sesame oil, garlic, green onion, soy sauce, black pepper, and sugar and then cooks it quickly in a pan, while the rice cooker handles the white rice. Finally, Maangchi assembles the wraps with lettuce and cherry tomatoes, showing how easy and fun her recipe is to make and eat.

God I love her. She is like everybody's auntie. My husband is Korean and he was adopted from Korea as a baby and so he and our children know very little about their heritage. I being, Native American, consider heritage very important to know and learn or else it is lost to your children. So I've been learning korean dishes for my family to help give them something back and learning and much ad I can culturally so they can keep both sides of their identities. My favorite Maangchi dish that I've learned is gamja jorim. I think it's a great exposure dish. When I introduce people to a food type that may be something that's way out of their comfort zone, I choose a flavorful but calm dish to get them started. My goal is to get them to drop any preconceptions they may have about it being too crazy or wild for them and just open the door and get them excited to try more

oh u r an angel! i understand a little bit how hard overseas adoptees are struggling to find their roots and identities... as a volunteer korean adoptee interpreter, i saw adoptees feel confused at first when they stepped down on their homeland for the first time. it';s important for the people around them to do something related with adoptees' original cultures, making food or watching movie or learning language... etc... you are so adorable.... i pray for your family God bless you 🙏

I love her. I’m Korean American but my mom never taught me how to cook any food. I started teaching myself how to cook at 18 but I focused on learning mostly non Korean dishes. For any Korean dishes I want to make, Maangchi is my go to reference. Her recipes taste like how my mom or grandma would make the dish. And she’s one of the only reliable Korean cooks out there that have easily accessible recipes translated to English.

Maangchi, you are absolutely adorable. I used your videos to have a huge Korean bbq at my tiny kitchen table.
