@@DLBBALL I'd agree that it diversifies the class, but I think the two bolt actions are objectively the most useless and worst guns in the class. I play on console, so unless you somehow have god aim and can quick scope headshots you won't be able to keep up with your squadmates when they're pushing objectives. This isn't a problem for recons because their only real obligation to the team/squad is to spot enemies. As a medic, you won't be able to effectively heal or revive *anybody* if you're hiding in the back trying to snipe people like a recon, and you won't even be spotting anybody. Without exaggeration, *every* single person I've seen using one of the two bolt actions has been proning WAY back from the actual combat areas. According to Defined Disaster (who plays on PC), they're useless for 99% of the PC playerbase as well unless you have Stodeh aim with a mouse.

KriticalKris Easily the best channel for gun stats! Though I do miss the solo weapon guides and the history of each weapon. With your BF1 guides, I found it very interesting about how many nations handled the planets’ first global conflict, seeing their weapons in use.

@@ligaar0849 nah frame rates are terrible on the game... dice already know about it so to turn around and defend it and say its fine is very dumb.

You do realize not everyone has the promblems right. I play on ps4 and expercine zero framerate promblems. I do have a ping spike every now and then but I'm going to say that's more my internet than the game.

Some are affected and some aren't. This stuttering + regression of the netcode has made the game damn near unplayable for many players.

Yea your pretty much limited to close quarter combat with smgs except the sten whilst every other gun excels in alot of ranges and can play comfortably all around the map while smg player's are just isolated in a small area or town. Besides the sten all the other smgs just feel like slightly modified reskined versions of eachother whereas in bf1 the smgs really set them selfs apart

Yeah they are smgs. Are you going to find sniper rifles that excel in close quarter combact against shotguns or smgs.

@@derrickc.2694 the best long range smg is the mp34 due to higher min damage. 15 min dmg equals the dmg of carbines in BF4. The mp34 is basically a 600 rpm carbine from BF4 on range and a 600 rpm smg on close quarters from BF3.

Eh idk about pointless, i love the new smg and its been my go to gun ever since i unlocked all 4 specs. Idk what it is about it, but it fits me perfectly.

@@isaktrondsen4014 It is undeniably worse than existing guns though. Dont get me wrong, I'm all for new stuff, but new stuff should fill a niche that isnt simply "I like it". It should have a real place.. Like when they released the AG-42. At the time and still to this day it is one of the most pointless semi auto rifles. Compared to the M1 Carbine, it does a bit more damage at the same ranges so this can allow it to be a 4 hit kill out to farther distances. It has a 10 round capacity and without the Detachable Magazines spec, it's pretty craptastic. Compared to the M1 Carbine which has a 15 round base, always detachable, can get 30 that's also detachable, and has the same levels of accuracy and recoil, it simply makes you scratch you head as to WHY it even exists other than somebody to say "Well I like it". Much like when the M2 Carbine comes out, it's likely going to put the 1907 SF on the back shelf because it's poised to be everything it already is and better. Yet I look back on some previous titles and very rarely did something like this ever happen. Each weapon, while similar had something unique about it that made it stand apart from it's competitors. Like in BF1, the Repetierpistole m1912/p16 vs the Automatico. The M1912/p16 had a higher ROF, and while far more inaccurate could EASILY outspray the Automatico in close quarters. Then... they nerfed it's ROF to the same as the Automatico but kept ALL of the negative drawbacks. What was the point now? There wasnt one... It was rendered pointless other than using it to unlock the other variant and get service stars with for tags. BFV has made so many different guns pointless through buffs, nerfs, or releasing a new gun thats identical in nearly every way except one area or two that make it the obvious better option. Turner SMLE and MAS-44 come to mind... After the Semi Auto recoil nerf, the ONLY advantage the Turner SMLE EVER had was the ability to get up to 20 rounds. But once the recoil nerf took place, the fact the MAS-44 already had lower first shot recoil, had the ability to stay on target more accurately with sustained fire suddenly made the extra 10 rounds worthless because the massive recoil. You were better off with the MAS-44 in ALL situations now or even using the Selbstlader M1916 for it's heavier damage.

Well then again, there isn’t that much new they can make with the smg, they have made so many different types so far that function differently, its hard to make a new one at this point that is unique.

@@isaktrondsen4014 Most SMG's function nearly identical to one another or one has just that tiny edge over it to the point it makes it not worth choosing. Like MP-40 vs Sten, full spec for recoil control the Sten has better accuracy. Full spec for hip fire, they're identical but the Sten still has better accuracy. The only ones that really stand out are the Suomi, Thompson, and the MP-28. The MP-34 was quite unique on launch, but with the ZK-28's release it made it pointless. The EMP is sitting in a bit of a sweet spot as it has good qualities and characteristics that make it competitive to other options but never quite dethroning the meta in any particular playstyle. But, after some nerfs and such, Thompson and Suomi are really the same gun but the Thompson by stats is a better gun through and through no matter how you look at it. There is something new they can do, make it perform differently to what currently exists OR give it a specialization or feature that set it apart from the others but not in such a fashion that it makes it's direct competition obsolete or pointless be it by stats or otherwise.
