*Stats Changes - Update 6.2:* Both still have same damage as each other, but are now a 4-7 shot kill, Bren still has superior accuracy, Lewis gun still has better stability

This is what pisses me off about Historical Battlefield and Dice. The Bren gun and the ZB33 it was derived from are possibly the best light machine guns ever made. But Dice nerfs them for crap like Madsens. It’s as bad as the Chauchat debacle in Battlefield one, where that was a prize weapon despite being possibly the worst firearm ever issued to an army, ever. A piece of utter shite.

@@c0rruption775 They're talking about the ZB vz. 33, the Czech machine gun which the Bren is based off of. It doesn't appear in BFV but they're saying that it and the Bren were amazing weapons in real life, while the Bren in BFV is pretty mediocre.

Idk man. Lewis got like 30 more rpm. You shouldn't sacrifice efficiency for versatillity.The Lewis gun is worse at many things compared many other guns. At least the Bren is very good at one thing instead of dragging itself along.

S 338 you fool, with 97 rounds at my disposal I can outrage any gun, even snipers. You cannot beat me with my iron sights.

Bren gun. I like the Lewis for it's capacity, but I feel like I don't need the capacity with the Bren when I'm able to land my shots more effectively

Im exactly the same as you. I used it once for maybe 20 mins. Now after trying it again i love it, its my favourite lmg its so accurate and it works well with the 3x scope

To be honest, the Lewis Gun, is for people who are super inacurate and need to puke a lot of bullets to kill one player. It's also a very campy gun.... The Bren however is a laser beam and a player with a good knowledge of his ammo count makes him shoot players decisively.

Likewise though a player who can be accurate and makes the most of his ammo will be better off with the Lewis Gun though. 47 vs 30, skilled vs skilled, Lewis is more likely to win. Then slap that 97 round magazine on and you have a real edge over a lot of guns.

I would glaldy take the Lewis gun with the extended mag vs nearly every support gun. Used it extensively to unlock the fg-42 only to go back to it. You can take out a squad or two if you aim your shots well and then resupply yourself for more kills. Love the lewwy!

Awesome video again, kris! I prefer the Lewis by far.. maybe from the experience with it carried over from bf1.. and that extra RPM really makes a difference. Also vertical recoil is one of my weaknesses so having that low vertical recoil is Essential to me!

The Bren is amazing, accurate, low recoil and fast reload. With x3 zoom is incredible.

Great Video! love your "Vs." series. The Bren Gun was my first wepon when i started playing BF5 was great to get the hang of the gunplay (Also the first i had all gold plated) Keep it up!

I'm gonna say it, I've played with the bren and got all the assignments done for it, I got used to it, but the lewis feels jumpier than the bren, also when you aim, the iron sights are sticking out on left and right, plus the mag at the bottom is annoying since I'm always stationary somewhere above other players.

If you go with maximum recoil reduction on both guns, the Bren is a smidge more accurate, I feel it reloads faster, but ultimately the Lewis Gun is better, it's minor accuracy loss isnt enough to keep it from being useful, 47 bullets beats 30, god help you if you run the extended 97 round magazine on the Lewis Gun and if you're sitting on the bi-pod both guns arent going to have recoil that matters.

These types of weapons really make me wish we had the B.A.R in-game with the toggleable 300 or 600 RPM fire rate. That being said, the Bren is an absolute laser beam.

Light mg like the bren/ fm24 and type 97 where known to be very accurate, this is why they took so long to be replaced with heavier mg like the mg42 and m60 . They where not that great at suppression and where just made for war ( to kill ). Now army need suppression and not a giant automatic rifle.

Stg is clearly better. I tried to use the ribeyrolles but couldn't bring my self to get it past rank 2. It just fires too slow for my assault class playstyle

i play with lewis with all the right side perks include extended Mag and the class specialization that give me option of spot enemies when i supprress them. this large amount of bullets and spotting enemies is a great combo and absolutly favourite in support class.....bren is good but the magazine cover a large part of the screen

one crucial point missed. Unlike the Lewis Bren can change the fire mode to single bullets, essentially helping it become more like a rifle for longer distance targets. I've had alot of success with this on snipers and campers.

it's easy to tap at 514rpm and get single shots out lol, never felt the need to switch to single on anything 600 rpm or below

I mean, frankly the Lewis gun is overall superior just for the simple fact of having a dummy THICC mag capacity. But the Bren is far superior if you’re not aggressive at all and choose a defensive role. Better stability and the very impressive sustain of a quick reload. It would be an absolute beast for holding an objective down on a bipod. Basically a quicker reloading type 11

In reality bren would be better than Lewis cause this last is older but in game is far more better Lewis. I used both, with 3x scope. Lewis with 47 rounds is really precise and letal also at distance, more effective than bren for lower recoil and has more rounds in his mag. I don't discuss choices of others everybody has own preference but rarely I find so many players togheter to need 97 rounds so I prefer 47 (isn't bad amount anyway) and better precision at any distance.

I have a problem getting the mmg's to lvl 4. Everytime I try to use them my team does nothing so I have to bring out a lmg to be mobile and lick up my teams slack
