Hi Sue I have very dry skin around my eyes and concealer is a struggle for me. I have quite a few higher end options and truthfully none of them are great on me (I do use a ton of skincare btw including eye cream). My top tip is to apply another layer of eye cream just before applying concealer (obviously only for those battling dryness that makes everything look cakey). I'm fortunate not to have dark circles, so I only apply it in the inner corner and keep it away from the areas where I have the most movement and wrinkles (I'm 51). Using that second layer of eyecream has allowed me to use concealers I didn't think were ever going to work eg Dior and bobbi brown. I use some of the worst offenders around my nose etc to cover redness and just keep them away from the eye area eg tarte shape tape and elf. It is an area of makeup I think most more mature women struggle with tbh. I might try the mac on my hand to check the texture if I can get a shade match (the lancome shades are way off for me and nothing is light enough). Best wishes.

Hi Loraine. I'm essentially looking for something to replace my Chanel le correcteur. I love the Chanel but I have to mix 2 shades. Which is not economical. An extra layer of eye cream would help the Lancome but ideally, I want a concealer where I don't have to make special allowances for it's performance. I'll continue to use it up, but am a little disappointed with it, based on all the rave reviews I've seen from ladies our age and older. Hi ho, hi ho, the search continues! Xx

@@Fifty-sense Hi Sue I guess I just know that I'm drier than most of the youtubers even in my age group, so I'm fully aware most of the really hyped products won't work for me without a bit of trial and error. I use an extra layer of eye cream under all my concealers, so it's not really an issue for me - I'm so dry I don't think there is a concealer out there that will really work without it. I've tried many that are supposedly really emollient and they still look dry on me - it just is what it is and one of the many issues of very dry skin. Some of them I have to mix a little oil into to get them to work at all. It's better that than having them sit in a drawer unused (we can't return used makeup here). x

The Mac looks better I think but the applicator’s a real bore. I will rewatch your analysis of Chanel Le Correcteur though I understand you haven’t found the ideal colour match :)

The MAC one has a more brightening effect compared to the Lancôme concealer. I’m probably your viewer from hell. Could you please compare the MAC concealer to your Channel corrector?

Yes I will! The Chanel is STILL my favorite But... I need to mix 2 shades together. So it's not cost effective. But it's never cakey!!
