for people who are wondering, im pretty sure this song was a message to fans at the time that didnt like the darker side of mac, say some of the stuff on macadellic, and presumablely were constantly questioning the style change. the whole "theres a bird, in sky, look at it fly, why?" this bar essentially means, "look theres mac miller, making sad songs, why?" and i always thought that message was super cleverly put into this song.

I thought watching mac videos (both music and othereise) would make me unbearably depressed after I heard of his passing on. And its did for sure, especially for the first few weeks. I couldn't accept that he, this man who shaped my adolescence and helped get me through some of the toughest issues I had ever faced by simply creating relatable music abouts both loving/hating life at the same time yet continuing to keep going to if not for anything else just to see what the next day would bring. As the weeks passed, I began to enjoy his work more and more, to the point that morbidly I enjoy it perhaps more than before he left us. Is that a bad thing? I'm not sure , but here I am still listening to an artist but more importantly than that a human being, perhaps one of the best of us, and Mac is still getting me through tough times. It was one of the first Mac's songs I ever heard. I fell in love and was a big fan ever since. When I saw the notification on my phone about his death some part of me died at that moment. People, please take care of yourself. If you're not feeling well, if you're depressed...go see a doctor or just talk to someone about it. I suffer from depression myself, keeping everything inside yourself only makes it worse. Alcohol and drugs make you feel better but for a little while. Seek help, I believe I'll be healthy again one day and you will be too. Malcome, hope you're in a happier place rn. Love you forever.
