You should get the studio only if your plan was to leave the macbook plugged into a display on a desk. For all other cases, macbook is the best solution. Its powerful and in the few instances where you need to plug in a display, you can still do it with the macbook.

Agree with that and despite the fact in 3 years so many things can change within the computing power, codecs, etc, so it's hard to futureproof yourself. However as you said over buying can't be a bad strategy as this investment will save you time and this is the most precious thing you need while editing! Thanks for your thoughts, Brandon!

@@CreateGreg Very true. "Futureproof" is essentially impossible as things will continue to change but understanding what and when to buy are critical components.

The Mac Studio is cheaper AND better.

Depends on what programs you’re using it for. MKBHD said his maxed out Mac Prob beat the Studio in Final Cut. But it’s also 1/20th of the price of the Mac Pro lol

Keep your most used files on your computer like Library, assets, effects. Save your old projects on hard drives.

It could be like Parker said, that it depends on the software you use, because even if you have the best hardware, if you can't take advantage of it, there is no point. Yet again, if you aren't mobile that often, and want more performance then you can take a look at the Mac Studio. There will always be better things on the horizon, but why wait when you can start today. Don't worry about it. Either your software isn't updated, or you need more performance, or the developers haven't taken advantage of the current format your using to make things, better. But since your talking about effects, I'll recommend reducing one of your effects, and then play back the video your editing, see if the video playback improves, if it does you'll know that effect you're using is heavy on your computer, do this to identify what video effects are slowing down / working smoothly. Try Davinci. It's faster than Premiere in general, and it's SUPER well optimized for BRAW.

@@flyingfilmmaker Resolve is great yes, I'm a very busy shooter / editor - Learning resolve atm but I still need premiere because I've been working in it for 7 years .. My workflow in Premiere VS Resolve one I'm quick the other I'm fumbling the ball. Hopfully soon I'll be fast in resolve
