In this video, I am listing the top 10 things you need to get started with embroidery after you purchase your embroidery machine. This video will help you with machine embroidery for beginners and guide you to get started - do you need tear away stabilizer, and if so what do you use it for? whether you are doing in the hoop projects, free-standing lace or simple embroidery, this is a list of all of the embroidery stabilizers and things you will need. Are you going to be doing some applique or in the hoop designs? if you are, then there are certain embroidery stabilizers that you will need.
Learning machine embroidery can be overwhelming. There are so many different kinds of stabilizers, thread storage, thread colors and more. What brand of thread should you get? Madiera?
Floriani or some other brand? WHERE DO YOU START?
Start with the basics and then slowly build up your stash. After you have made your embroidery machine purchase (whew, it can be a lot of money!!) just get the basics so you can learn how to do embroidery properly. You don't need no-show-mesh cutaway stabilizer if you don't know how to use it, or what fabric it is used on, or when you need to use it! Right? Yes, you can save all of that for later, when you are more experienced. No need to be overwhelmed at the beginning! Embroidery stabilizer is one of the most important things to purchase - you need tear away stabilizer, cut away stabilizer and water soluble stabilizer to get you started. Don't get the cheapest embroidery stabilizer - get the best embroidery stabilizer for your machine and your embroidery designs.
Get the basics and get started stitching!!
MACHINE EMBROIDERY EDUCATION. FOR EVERYONE.
LEARN. STITCH. SMILE.

I am constantly amazed at the questions people post & then sit & wait for answers that they never get. The answers are always right there in the manuals. And, no one seems to bother to look for them.

yes. all of the answers are in the manuals...if people would read them.

I agree that the manuals are full of great information. I got my embroidery machine almost a year ago, and it so intimidated me, that I immediately sat down and read a large portion of it. It goe me started, and I have gone on and read the rest. I can find the answer to almost every question in it. Still have to ask questions of more experienced people. Thanks for the information.

Thank you!! I had left a comment earlier today on the Flip Flop Live video you recently did, on Stabilizer. Disregard that now, you covered it here!! Great Information!! I do not get to sew as much fun things, so some of your terms are new. I have been embroidering for over 18 years, most all Commercial Embroidery. I love every video you all make!! So much FREE information!! Thank you Again!!!

People hate reading manuals? I love it. It's like a tradition for me now when I have gotten a new machine.

I always read my manuals first thing and keep them close by at my machines and refer back to them when I need to!! I've learned a lot from them. I don't know how some people would make it without KZfaq to depend on now days!! Lol. I know there's a lot of information on KZfaq and I enjoy learning new things too but I still start with reading my manuals, usually until certain pages are worn. Some people just don't like to read anymore. I love having mine tho!

Another idea. This was from a friend on another site. She likes to buy Canvas Drop Cloths to do Sew Outs on. Lots of Fabric for an inexpensive price. Easy to find at your Home Improvement Stores or Hardware Stores. (Wasn't sure if I could mention Store names, but I think you know what I mean).
