All through history, there are gifted poets, craftsman, sculptors and artists. They are blessed with their own specific talents. I however have been given the talent of reading books, changing diapers, and staining clothes. I love to make quilt tops! But I can mess up the most perfect quilt by trying to quilt it! In this area of expertise, I am a complete failure. Just can't do it! Guess I'll have to let someone else work their magic on my masterpieces or get out the measure, yarn and upholstery needle! Only takes me a week to tie a quilt, a jar of BenGay and a bottle of Excedrin! 😁😅😵 Oh yeah, and a velcro toed kitten to help me tie the knots! Haha!!!

@NataliaBonner4 жыл бұрын
I cannot say enough good things about my machine. Gammill is an amazing company, not only are the machines the most fabulous I've ever quilted on, but the company as a whole is fabulous, if you ever have an issue, which I've have very few of, your dealer will come to your home and help you or walk you through it over the phone. They also have awesome support groups online for Gammill owners. Gammill machines are worth every single penny! :)

Can this level of precision and expertise be had on a domestic machine and not on a longarm?? I don't have the space or finances just yet for a longarm and definitely not for a Gamill. My stitching seems to be so jerky on my Bernina even though I have slowed my speed way down and tried using my stitch regulator. Am I a hopeless mess???
@NataliaBonner3 жыл бұрын
Yes it can! Some of the most fabulous quilts are quilted on domestic machines. Lots and lots of practice. 🧡🧡🧡

@@NataliaBonner Not sure I have that much life in years left!!! Ha ha...Also, though I know that lots of practice is needed, I can't help but be a bit upset with the thought of 'wasting' all that material that I would need to run through in order to get the kind of practice in needed to get 'good' at this. Is there a way to not feel guilty that I am wasting valuable resources as I learn? Thanks!

You can adapt any lessons from a long arm to a domestic. You just move your hands instead of the machine. I long arm but sometimes a piece is too small and I have to do the action on my domestic machine. Happy quilting.
