Angela, this was very informative, thank you! I would like some good tips as to how to manhandle a very large quilt on a home sewing machine. I’m very intimidated when it comes to maneuvering even twin-sized quilts while using quilting rulers. Any tips you can share, or any videos we can view regarding this? Do you use a special table, and how do you keep your hold on the quilt so as not to let gravity weigh down the quilt??? Thank you in advance!

I'm still trying to get a foot for my machine! I signed up for the challenge and then chickened out but then watched the video and now I have to do it!! I have a Juki HZL F600 and I believe it’s a low shank. I’ve been researching in FMQ with rulers. Thanks for this tutorial. What do you suggest I buy. I can’t use the stippling foot that came with machine, can I? Or do I need to buy a new foot for that type of ruler quilting. Also is there stitch regulators for my machine. I’m limited space but looking and probably gonna purchase the Juki TL2010qi u believe it’s a mid long arm. Not sure but it’s straight stitch and 1500 spm which is great BUT I still need to get down the speed of the machine and the speed of my movements so a stitch regulator would be a great idea but I don’t know if there’s one for my Juki F600 and the 2010qi anyways thanks again.

Which rulers are recommended for the challenge? IS there a package of rulers or do I need to buy them individually? I don’t have any at this time and am looking forward to learning how to use them.

Sorry I wasn't live with this. Some people suggest using an instant pot, but I still prefer my slow-cooker (old school, I know). I can start dinner in the morning and forget it! The best gift I ever gave my husband is a Dutch oven. I guess he feels like it's a more "manly" cooking tool, and it has inspired him to do more cooking. In the fall I can get him to cook for "game day"! Don't have dogs, so no answer there...

Can you tell me please if I use any thread when quilting on my domestic sewing machine

If you put clear vinyl on the long arm, you could show how the ruler base moves while you hold the ruler.

Do you press the start/ stop button having disconnected the foot pedal or do you adjust using speed?

Do you need to put the feed dogs down when using a ruler foot like you would when using the free motion quilting foot?

I think it would be cool to get it unbound because then I could tell people that Angela Walters and I made the quilt. So impressive!!! ;)

For beginners what type/weight of thread do you recommend for ruler work?

I know about that first time using a ruler on a sewing machine yesterday I broke the needle and the ruler. My hands were in my way

This probably has nothing to do with what you're trying teach in this challenge but how do you get the quilt motifs to fit the area you're quilting? For example the right number of scallops to fill a border. Would you consider teaching a challenge on This?

Are the supplies and panels all available if you are doing the challenge alone thru u tube?

When I reposition my needle often jumps when I stat back up. How do you stop that from happening?

Can high shank rulers be used on a long arm? I'm going to be using a Grace Q'Nique 15"pro.

I have a janome and if I read it correctly. It states it does it on its own.

I have a sit down HQ sweet siteen is it the same as the long arm
