Worked on a bull ranch up in Oregon, ( circa 1988). Had a 1978, three cylinder, diesel, with a front-end loader. That was one sweet machine.

Look just inside the rear frame, left side, in the articulation area. On the bottom cross structure and see if there is a #17 stamped in the steel. If so, I am the one who welded that particular rear frame. If there is another number beside mine, that would have been my welding partner.

I don't do a lot of work with it but what I do . It pulls my 6-18 onland 710 IH plow and my 22 ' 490 IH disk and a 36' glenco digger , just great . thanks Pete

Great piece of Red Power history! My local dirt track has an old AC 7580 bareback that is used a few times each season to turn the track, then they grade and roll the clay. I'm pretty sure this is a fairly rare tractor too.

I have worked in the Farm Equipment all my life and I have never heard of these tractors and I live in Manitoba as well. Very nice, wish IHC would of put them into production!

Wonder how much was still kept from the 86 series tractors components those were notoriously unreliable and hard to manuver hope they changed more than sheet metal and cosmetic looks I'll have too say they are rare birds indeed though

I will put an IH up against any thing in the same class and will out work them any way you want to hook it and do it on less fuel. Any one that doesn't like IH has never put any hrs on one
