This ride on lawn mower is rusty and rotten. It has been left outside for years. The engine won't turn over and the whole thing looks like it's ready to be scrapped. Will it run?
Thank you to my Patrons

Lightweight is good and what did I use it for it’s a lawnmower kzfaq.infoUgkxTPN04aT-Qdjr_KS3ql7ng8wnU3wwsCqk also recommend Yes it is lightweight so hence not as robust as our old one. But if you take care it does the job really well.

Very impressive. When you gave us the first look at this machine my thought was it had been outside for months (read that to mean years) and everything was locked solid. Your willingness to give it a chance to live again is commendable, and your open-mindednesses paid off. You truly know your stuff!

I owned a Simplicity/Agco riding mower here in the US with one of those B&S Intek V-Twin engines. It was dead-solid reliable and extremely easy to maintain. The only issue I ever had was the fuel pump. There is a vent on the back side that tends to get clogged with dust and debris. I would be mowing along just fine and then it would start to act like it was running out of fuel. It would stay running if I applied the choke but even then it would eventually expire. After leaving it to sit for a while it would restart and run like nothing had happened, until it soon repeated the issue. After pulling the pump off and cleaning the vent with carburetor cleaner, it never gave anymore trouble. Excellent video, as always. Keep up the great work, and cheers!

@@DansERVvids Hmm, that's news to me. I had mine for 15 years and put over 300 hours on it with only the dirty vent on the back of the fuel pump giving it an issue. I maintained it regularly, used synthetic oil and wix filters. I had a 38" deck I mowed 1.5 acres with and a 36" front mount snowblower I used during the winters. It was a great machine, maybe I was lucky? Or your buddies weren't? Who knows?

That's the same engine that was on my dad's old Huskee lawnmower from the early 2000s. That engine will not die, no matter what you throw at it. Sadly, he retired the lawnmower sometime in 2013-2014 because of a snapped rear axle. He didn't want to fool with replacing it. The lawnmower had a good run for over 10 years. He now has a Toro zero turn mower with a 753 cc Kawasaki twin.

Just as good practice - when you're putting an oring on something like at 48:35, take a pick or a small screwdriver and get the shaft between the oring and the part it's on, then go around a few times to make sure the oring isn't rolled in on itself.

And got it back running even tho it was actually sezed. "Not from the spark coil or so" It was actually stuck and got it free aigan. it only took me about 5 days getting the engine done!
