Machining some brass on the Bridgeport

In this video I do some machining on some brass using the Bridgeport milling machine. I face mill the brass before using the Digital Readout to accurately put some holes in the brass. A simple job, but all important in learning the Digital Readout (DRO) and the milling machine.

Great video I bought a power feed for my Bridgeport from eBay £135 Also on your DRO it has a half function measure the edges as you did, choose the axis you want to half and move the axis to 0.00 and your done Keep up the good work

Hi Paul, Many thanks for your comment. I've seen that button on the panel and thought 'I must look that up' and always forgot. Now you've said that I will definitely have a play, and a read of the manual!!! I've seen those power feeds on eBay, and they look good for the price, and a power feed is on the to buy list for the workshop. All the best, Laters, Matt.

It's all well and good getting us excited about lumps of brass, but what is the model it is going to be turned into an injection mould for, or is this part of the suspenseful plan? As someone with no engineering skill or experience I find your videos interesting and educating in equal amounts, keep up the good work.
