Machu Picchu in Rainy Season (Salkantay Trek Day 5 of 5) | Peru Vlog #21

Күн бұрынIn this video I visit the holy Incan site of Machu Picchu. I had a slot between 6 AM and 10 AM to visit Machu Picchu and the mountain of Huayna Picchu.
At 6 AM there were really few visitors due to poor weather condition and Covid-19. I made the mistake to book Machu Picchu AND Huayna Picchu in a combined ticket. With this, I could not make a guided tour through Machu Picchu and only where able to see the lower part of Machu Picchu after climbing the Huayna Picchu mountain. Advise: You need to buy two separate tickets :)
The Salkantay Trek (This is the fifth day out of five) is an alternative route to hike to Machu Picchu on 4 to 5 days. One of the greatest and hardest adventures I did in my life. Unlike the traditional Inca Trail this route is considered for more hikers so you do not need to wait for one of the limited Inca Trail passes.

Thanks for this video. It was well shot and informative. I'm heading out to Machu Picchu on the 4th of December. I need to make my hotel reservations and tour purchases today.

Thank you very much! ☺ I could book everything only 1 day before doing it (the Salkantay Trek and the accommodations). I found it way cheaper to book it there than online. In retrospect, I should have stayed two days at Machu Picchu Town (Aguas Calientes). I hope that you get good weather and views on this beautiful spot!!

Gotta love the off season. We had to cancel the Salkantay due to our perspective sponsors trepidation. Next time we will definitely put it on the agenda again. Cheers to your channel and adventurous spirit, my dude. Subed to see more. We are so excited to see this next month and film it for our channel. Machu Picchu is #1 on my bucket list.
