Who is “any of us”?

Clearly he has not thought this through. The settlement makes the TV money more important than ever. Those with the most TV money will be able to pay more. Unless they all make the same amount - which the athletes will never agree to.

Name, Image and Likeness should be secured by the player for use of their name, image, and likeness. The universities should only pay NIL payments to players when they actually use their name image or likeness to make money.

The Super League isn't happening. You only hear that idea over in the ACC and Big 12. Go to the SEC and Big 10 media and you don't hear this. I'm in the Big 10. Everytime I hear the phrase super league mentioned, I see that something important to college sports is concurrently happening. The goal is to feed on the ACC/Big 12 fear. Case in point: when Ohio State spring football game was on free TV (FOX) this super league paranoia popped back up. The reason why I am bringing up the spring game is because Yomark needs something to show ESPN that the Big 12 has a product (spring game) just as good as the SEC and the Big 10 to air on ESPN (not ESPN+ streaming) in 2025.

Making players employees isn’t that complicated because all the pro leagues have already worked out how to make it work. Do pro players rent their helmets? Do players pay for rooms & travel benefits? Mimic the pro teams. That’s the blueprint. The only difference is the requirement they are students at the school and they get to pay tax on that benefit also. They need to be employees with contracts and collectively bargain with the players union.

College players ARE pros.

Translation: Baylor can’t afford the current NIL climate. Only big schools can…for example…schools with 40k + students who can leverage their huge student populations to pay money by increasing student “fees”

Lawyers will try to destroy college sports. If you don’t want to play college sports…turn pro!

College athletics is in such a bad state. Harbaugh and Saban know the same. The government is saying student athletes have to be paid only now, why?. Students, in order to meet requirements to get most normal jobs, are having to pay tuition at a public school to pay athletes at the school which is recieving public tax funds and business revenue from football. All schools engaging in business practices that NCAA said was not allowed at SMU and warranted loss of authorization to participate in business. Really looks like a collapse of ethical and legal governance structure due to profit interest rather than expansion of rights that were unfairly denied.
