Mackerel Fishing Nova Scotia | Bluefin Tuna and Shark Encounter

Fishing for mackerel in Nova Scotia, Canada from a 14ft aluminum boat. During this fishing trip, we had multiple bluefin tuna surface near the boat chasing baitfish and had a shark circle us near shore. We caught approximately 100 mackerel and kept a total of 36. For gear, we used Sabiki Rigs with 2-4oz weighted hooks.
Note: All of the fish caught and kept in this video were not put to waste.

How big would you say those tuna were? I would be scared of them in that aluminum boat….

I'd say 600-800lbs... Thing was huge.

Great times there! What part of the province are you guys fishing out of? My father and I typically hit up around Riverport and caught a decent amount of mackerel and squid over there! Lots of fun! Definitely subscribed!👍👍

are squid common? and what would be the best months to fish for them from shore? :)

Squid are very common! It's best to fish from piers on a rising tide. Preferably in the evening or early morning... The best months to go are mid-late June, July and August.
