Discipleship: the Core Essense of Leadership Pipeline. I get calls from pastors all the time who want their church to have an intentional leadership development strategy so they can fill their leadership pipeline with quality leaders. As I work with these churches I give them a framework that enables them to build a customized intentional process for developing leaders. But the major thing I emphasize through the whole leadership pipeline training process is this: What we are doing is discipleship. We are not just trying to impact the numbers of leaders we have, we are trying to impact the behavior of our current leaders so they are identifying, recruiting and discipling new leaders. Once you get that it becomes a game changer.
