Hiya, Spencer! Great bit of sharing, definitely one of the fastest and cheapest mods you can do. I tried to make a turnbuckle, but it wouldn't fit without shaving the chassis and I was too chicken to do it. So this hack is the best one! All the best, my good friend. 🙃👍

Hello Dennis, Happy New Year 🎉. Hope you're feeling better 🤞 I got this trick from Pete's mate Ric and thought I'd share it 👍 I was going to enlarge the hole on the servo saver to fit a turnbuckle but thought it might crack so opted for this version. It does the same job with no breakages 👏 You hurry up and Get Well Soon ready for the next Screwdriver Challenge 😎

Cheers Craig. It's a cheap and cheerful mod that takes the slack out of the steering. And with the choice of rear body post, you can give your Mad Bull a free facelift 👍

That's great! I have a Memorial DT-01, but I haven't modified the steering yet, I did experience it was very loose, to say it mildly! I think before next summer, I should definitely do this, or invest in a turnbuckle for it, eliminate that slop! Thanks for sharing!

Hi Mads, I thought this trick would be great to try first as I was scared about drilling a bigger hole in the servo saver top plate just in case it split but a turnbuckle would also improve the slop in the steering 👍

That's a brilliant tip - as you say, it'd take all of 15 seconds, and make the Mad Bull far more satisfying to drive.

I think it improves the steering characteristics tremendously Del. Out of all the Mad Bull's that I have, this pink one and the blue one are the only ones that I haven't done the steering mod to. This black one I built up for a so-called friend who decided that he didn't want it so I sold it to someone else who thinks it is the best handling buggy he has driven 👍 And it's a cheap mod to do 😎

Hay Peter. Nice tips mate. Will have to try to remember them in case I ever get a DT-01. Hope all is well! All the best and stay safe matey 👌✌ P.S. Sorry for the delay but like a lot of us I've been under the weather and find my self playing catch-up.

I did up a DT-01 for someone a while back. I was shocked at the steering. It was terrible. I ended up putting a proper link on it rather than the shrink tube. With the shrink tube you have to put enough on to cover all of the link and enlarge the holes so it will fit in snug. Like you say, a good quick fix. I still found the buggy terrible to drive but the old tires didn't have much grip to be fair. It just took its own driving line 🤣

Hello Damien, you're not wrong about the handling characteristics of the DT-01 kit. They certainly do have a mind of their own and they are a bit like Marmite. You either love it or hate it. I love the Mad Bull but hate Marmite. I didn't enlarge either of the holes to slide the steering rod into its position but I did cure the amount of play there was on the standard build 👍

Hi Peter, hope your keeping well, great talk through and explanation of the simple, cheap and effective steering servo arm modification. Also the steps required using the F part body mount to swap over the bodies. Mods that don’t cost or only cost a couple of pounds for the heat shrink tubing, but make a bi big difference to the handling. I wish you health and happiness for 2022. Take care 😉😊😉

Cool tip, I heard it mentioned previously but glad you showed it as it makes much more sense now. If they ever get back in stock here in the states (anywhere but the eBay overpriced store) I really want to get one. I remember seeing them in the magazines when I was young and thinking they were one of the coolest buggies out there! I think it was mostly because it was a more affordable one so there was a better chance I might be able to get one! Thanks for the tip on the body mounts too!

Hi Addam, it's easier to show on film and explain what goes where than it is to describe in writing when someone asks about it. This hobby is about sharing our experiences and how we overcome the challenges that we come across when we are replacing the standard parts for alternative parts.

Hello young Pete. Top tips my friend. Hadn't thought about using the shrink wrap like that. Ric did something with his Mad Bull to improve the steering but I can't quite remember what it was. I seem to remember that he ended up with a straight arm in between but I could be wrong. Anyway good stuff and a nice but of presenting. I'm currently stuck at home as tested positive for the virus on Tuesday. Just coldy at the moment so not too bad. Anyway I'm getting some kit building done so not all bad. Hopefully this means I won't get it again for a while. Hope you and yours are ok. Catch you soon 😃

@@PeteWylieRC My little princess was due to have her op on Monday 20th December but as she came into season, her op was cancelled and has been rebooked for Friday 28th January which is better for her as the Vets wouldn't be able to operate while she was still in season. I've got 3 wks off work as I need to monitor Maisie so that I can change her dressings every day and to make sure that she doesn't pull her stitches out and take her medicine like a good girl 😎

The chrome ones are Wild Willy 2 wheels otherwise known as WR-02 wheels. They are 12mm hex at the rear and bearings for the front. Or you can just use the standard yellow Mad Bull rims as they are the same setup and you can also get Gold WR-02 wheels too 👍

Hi there, thanks for watching 👍 Yes, you put the heat shrink tubing on the rod end to end as described in the video and the tubing takes away the slack that you would normally have on the rod without the tubing.
