Did you like it when these hens were sent to a slaughter house, when they were no longer profitable to your family? In a slaughter house they don’t sing, they are absolutely horrified, as we would be..The worst horrors are inflicted on them because people want what is theirs..Their eggs Their bodies Their life If you love or care about our animal friends, you would align your actions with your feelings and live Vegan Animals are not resources They are not experiments They are not entertainment or sport They are individuals, who want to live their lives without being used and abused, the way we do.

No one knows for sure what the egg song is for but the best theory is they are trying to be reunited with the flock since it takes around 40 minutes to lay an egg the flock probably wandered off without her.
@goldengryphon4 күн бұрын
@@bertsmith5569 Nope. Chickens want to lay their eggs in safe places. No place is safer than one where more eggs are laid - it lessens the potential for any individual egg being caught by someone who tries to eat it, and with more chickens laying in any spot, there's less likelyhood the nest is unattended for long periods of time. Egg songs are the hen's way of letting the rest of the flock know where she is, what she just did, and that's theis is a handy place to come lay their egg. In a well-balanced and social flock, many birds will take up the call, and the roosters will go check on her to make sure everything's okay.
@bertsmith55692 күн бұрын
@@goldengryphon Interesting theory that the chicken is broadcasting where the good nest is I didn't think of that one, however my chickens typically sing when they are all alone and stop singing the moment I personally escort them back together. They also sing like this when something scares them. Like I said there are a LOT of theories for the egg song including a hen screaming to the world she's ready to mate again :D

It’s not joyful, it’s because it hurts. Hens are bred to lay larger eggs than they should and many die because the eggs get stuck inside them. Very sad.
@JK-yt3dmКүн бұрын
Actually, the reason why hens do this isn’t really known. While it isn’t uncommon for hens to cry out in pain/strain during laying, that sounds decidedly different from the “egg song” which they sing after laying. The reasons why they do this aren’t clear, but the main theories are that: 1)-It is due to selective breeding of the hens that were noisiest after laying, which made it easier for people to collect the eggs before scavengers (or other hens) could get to them 2)-It is an attempt to distract potential predators and draw them away from the nest, which hens are often known to do Hope this helped clear things up!
@kerryfirehorseКүн бұрын
@@JK-yt3dm you said that you didn’t know, so how can that clear things up? One thing missing is the compassion for the poor hens. I’m sure they sing after they’ve laid out of relief. If you had a rugby ball coming out your butt every day, I’m pretty sure you’d sing afterwards from relief too.
@bertsmith556917 сағат бұрын

@@goldengryphon yes, definitely. That premise was the very foundation of a short story I read once of an inventor Who managed to develop a small time gate thingy that didn’t really work very well and he couldn’t get it to stabilize but on one of the first tests a bunch of dinosaur eggs dropped through the gate and they made these cute little dinosaur chicken like things that tasted absolutely fantastic and they bred like rabbits. Revolutionized the food industry. “Dino-chickens” I believe they were called. (Not very original I’ll give you that) amusingly, The inventor didn’t really wanna have anything to do with the eggs or the Dino chickens it was just one of his young relatives that took over that and made a fortune while he sat and tinkered with his time thing never getting it able to work.

If these are dinosaur descendants, where are the missing links? It's almost like people who believe in the airy-fairy religion of evolution have to rely on their religious authorities to invent explanations for everything since they don't have any real evidence.
