Wait..didn't Max solve every damn problem they encountered in the movie? What the hell are people talking about..the guy's a manly man who can get shit done. He's an awesome character, as far as I'm concerned. Furiosa (Charlize Theron's character) being a badass doesn't make Max less of a badass, in his own right. I don't understand the Internet.

I think Fury Road is so much more then just a car chase, I'm a bit surprised you guys can't see that. Yes, the story is not fleshed out, but it's not suppose to be. We are just thrown into a world without much explanation, which is exactly what makes it feel alive. I agree that Tom Hardy was underwhelming and didn't bring much to his role, but there's a ton of character in this movie! The characters we follow are not the same in the end, as they were in the beginning. All the villains are like a set piece, each with their own stroke of madness. And every new vehicle we see have so much character, and bring something new to a scene. Once you look past the explosions, there's so much more there. It's just that everything is so underplayed, it doesn't stand out as much, as it does in a movie like Age of Ultron.

Blue .Barrymore That issue did come out but it was already debunked as untrue as they simply couldn't work as much as their male counterparts during the a year due to situational circumstances. I am not sure that movies before 2010 are obligated to address that issue rather than the government, media, and society itself so i kinder fail to see how any of that is sexist as you say it is. Do you have any better examples?

Mad Max having a 99% on RottenTomatoes doesn't mean nothing because "the movie ain't perfect" it means nothing because it asks how many people liked vs how many didn't. None of those people were asked if they thought it was great, perfect, or okay, they were just asked whether they liked it or not.

Martin seriously thinkings Age of Ultron is better than this? He's entitles to his opinion, but I saw way more heart and originality in Mad Max than Marvel Superhero Movie #53.

frankjohnson123 That’s such an easy problem to say about any franchise movie. Age of Ultron did have characters we at least cared about. The main problem with that one was that it was far less-focused than the other movies. The Marvel movies up to the newer ones were mainly ok before then, aside from maybe the first Iron Man and The Avengers, and GOTG, and...ok, we had some great ones, but it’s pretty far above the level of the phase one movies besides Iron Man.

One long car chase? 2hr car chase? What movie did you people watch? I swear, the bulk of people that watch movies are dumb as hell. A complete reflection of the average American. This movie was not about the car chases and there were 3 chases to be exact. But if y'all can't see the real, true and deeper meaning of this film then that's just sad. Lastly, this movie was about Max, but again you all don't see that. Max got redemption. Max found sanity of sorts in this film. Max saved the lives of the crew and he literally saved the life of Furiousa by giving her his blood. Max brought hope back to the citadel by dumping the body of Imortan Joe on the ground and presenting Furiousa to them. This was about Max. Cmon ppl.

Visual storytelling at its finest. Everything is practical, real, dirty and dangerous. They add some CGI here and there as some extra seasoning, but the main ingredients are honest and satisfying.

They're dual main characters really, Max and Furiosa. It's like you're reaching to call her the main character to rile the people hating on her up. This was a movie where the two characters were equals, and it was refreshing to see in a Hollywood film.

When I first watched this I agreed with Martin so much. Now a couple years after and I’m completely flipped around on the movie it’s easily a Better Than Sex. But I do see where Martin is coming from because even I had the same complains at the time. But to each their own and that’s fine, his review and arguing with Korey is still and always will be funny as fuck

i have to disagree with your point of view of the mad max not being the main character or being secondary, i felt throughout that the movie was making it a point to remind the viewer that his actions are directly influencing the plot and that him getting captured is why we find ourselves viewing this car chase in the first place. and i know you were being sarcastic, but tom hardy was a hood ornament for 15-20 mins tops lol.

I watched this review with my wake and bake. It was the best way to start my day. They hit all the target points that I would have wanted to hear spoken about. This review had the right mix of comedy and film critique. This show is a masterpiece.

Why are people so much in denial over this being a feminist film where the Mad Max is actually the supporting role? After all, famed feminist, Eve Ensler (author of The Vagina Monologues), worked on this film as a consultant. And in her own words she described Mad Max Fury Road as being a feminist film.

Kajetan Gams "she stands respectfully behind him saying nothing until he hands it over" "respectfully behind him"...??? Are you serious with this bullshit? Somehow you forgot to mention how she stands "respectfully behind him" WHILE USING HIM AS A RIFLE STAND. Him giving her the rifle was him agreeing to be tool of utility for her. Nearly everything Max does in the film (including his idea to take over Immortal Joe's place) is to fulfill the needs/requests of Furiosa. "She happened to be in Africa so Miller asked her to talk to the 5 girls so they better understand there role. Thats it." Ultimately, no matter which way you attempt to frame things, the FACT remains that Eve Ensler's influence over the characters/film, resulted in her (NOT ME) considering the film to be a "feminist film". That's it. Argue with her. Not me.

I really don't get these complaints. I just watched the first Mad Max movie for the first time and Max was secondary in that, and he wasn't even mad until the end. Goose was the main character for the first half and he was the mad loose cannon, not max. The movie should have been called "Mad Goose: Max goes on Vacation"

I have watched two hours of reviews for this movie and this is the best one I have seen, I agree with everything you guys are saying :) The movie was amazing and just like when I was 10 years old in 1995 and saw Mad Max 2 on TV it has made me proud to be an Australian again :)

Mad Max had so much story. That's like saying it's just somebody trying to throw a ring in a volcano the whole movie. The Lord of the rings. There was so much to why there was a car chase and there's a whole world they built around it in such a unique style as well. With all these different clans that meet up because his breeders or stolen because they're in a nuclear fallout apocalyptic setting.

Yeah, there's barely any story or characterisation in this, but..the action sequences are *_fantastic_*. Go watch this movie, guys! It makes all of the _Fast and Furious_ movies look tame (action-wise).
