Just a quick video of the first paddle in my new boat, a Mad River Guide, on a rather washed out and pushy Tyne at Prudhoe Country Park.
15 years after they stopped production, I still think it's the best solo, river tripping/running trad boat ever built. (feel free to argue in the comments section below, but it's my channel so you'll probably lose!)
The boat needs outfitting to my taste (we all like different outfitting and I really don't like kneeling thwarts).
Apologies for not fastening my buoyancy aid, I was tired and didn't notice. Don't try this at home kids, I'm a professional idiot.
If you are here for the camera, I'm continueing to play with the Ev settings, as it washes out on standard settings.
I still think it over saturates the video, so I did a bit of fixing during editing, and I fiddled with the gamma to compensate for my fiddling with the Ev.
A lot of this video was turning into and out of the low sun, the camera coped pretty well with these difficult condition and the lens flare isn't too offensive. Overall I'm quite pleased with it. Battery life is excellent at 1080p30, and my issues with saturation are easily fixed in post.
