As a teenager, I used to see Madagascar tree boas somewhat frequently. I worked in a reptile shop in Riverside California and we would get a couple of them once or twice a year. Now, it seems like they're unobtanium. I'm very happy to see that they're still around in the hobby.

You've never had problems with them dropping eggs from the perches? Or do you remove the perches and water bowl when they are due to lay?
@gsreptiles5606
@gsreptiles5606 4 жыл бұрын
Once my female chondros hit day 10 after their POS, I remove their water bowls every night, and remove ALL but their lowest perch. This way, if she drops her eggs from the perch, they land on a soft cushion of Coco-Chips. Hope this helps!

I’m having problems with one of my etb’s. For some reason she won’t keep her food down. Yes she it imported and I’m sure that’s a red flag right there. But she isn’t my first import. Imports are much harder to take care of/ get used to their enclosure but this one is different. I have both temperature and humidity set perfect but she still regurgitates. She is very aggressive when it comes to eating however 2 or 3 days after her meal she always throws it back up. She is about 1 year old now. I have tried everything. The last time I waited about 12 days before feeding her again but still that didn’t seem to work. I’m asking for help because I really don’t know what else to do. Please reach out to me with more information. Thank you.
@gsreptiles5606
@gsreptiles5606 4 жыл бұрын
Mark, I'm sorry, and I wish I had better news, however your girl will most likely not pull-through. Once chronic regurgitation starts with an imported animal, it is very difficult to stop it. It is not related to your enclosure parameters, but instead bacterial / parasite related. You can get a fecal done on her and try dosing her with one of the many popular "anti parasite drugs", however at this stage, most likely none will be effective. If you watch my first video "3 Thing to Know", I specifically discuss imported adult emeralds. While some will thrive, once they regurgitate multiple times, there is little a keeper can do. Even an experienced one. Best of luck.
