Madhuri’s second inning is not a semblance of what her first inning in 90s was . She was the biggest star of 90s and now she can’t even compete with tabu : it’s heart wrenching to see her just as a dancing star with a few flop movies on OTT platform here and there . She must come back with something solid with a great director like sanjay leela bhansali and the likes

It is a great tragedy that Bollywood didn't offer more challenging roles (like Mrityudand) to her, just because she was a superstar/dancer! She excelled in every role offered to her!

Yes Mam you have things to prove. 90s ki movies mein stories hoti hi kahan thi khaskar actresses k qirdaar.....abhi pichle 10-12 saal se actresses k liye bhi acchi stories likhi jane lagi....warna it was mostly either love interest or ghar ki bahu type roles. yes you are a great actress....you performed really well in movies like Beta, Devdas, Mrityudand, Anjaam, Gulaab Gang, Dedh Ishqiyaan, Maja Ma, Netflix Series Fame Game.....But you are yet to do Grey Characters, Flawed Characters which are more human, thriller and Action Genre....Tabu is acing it....Kajol also did well in Tribhanga and Trial...... As an actor the day you think you have nothing left to prove is the day you die as an actor.

This has nothing to do about not learning. In this interview itself, Madhuri talks about her English song she released. To even try singing an English song was a new thing she learnt for that matter. For a moment forget the name Madhuri or Sri and think of an elderly person in family who has retired from his regular job and now wanting to do something that excites them without much financial pressure or job security stress as before. That’s what she meant. At 55 (or whatever was her age during this interview), she can definitely say she will accept offers that excites her over what the media or the financial market expects her to do.

There would be no freshness. Madhuri is a great actress no doubt about it but she has done similar roles many times even kalank recently. Manisha was unusual choice but she did it like a magician.

@@leen1q84 after watching I felt like Manisha was a perfect choice. Even without any explanations we could feel the sufferings of mallikajaan, the paths she crossed.. I don’t think those names you mentioned could do that. Plus Manisha had a dainty yet a steely look which helped.

@@arunks6986 you don't know that until they actually play the part. After all, this is an SLB production. So more than the actress it's the director who elicits the performance from them. Who would have thought any of these women could perform as well as they did? (except SLB's niece). A big part of the credit goes to SLB for that. But yes, Manisha did embody that fierce yet fragile look very well.

Madhuri was a talented actress and dancer but she was slightly overrated in the 90s because many talented heroines were there who were better than Madhuri but they never achieved super stardom and media always promoted her. Manisha Koirala, Urmila, Tabu and Juhi were all better in acting than Madhuri but only Juhi managed to become a superstar while others remained underrated.

@@zeddyzeddyxx I am not denying that Madhuri was talented. She stole the limelight in Devdas and was so convincing. Her work was also impressive in Dil Toh Pagal Hai but if we compare Madhuri with her contemporaries like Manisha, Urmila or Tabu they were more versatile and always preffered meaningful cinema rather than just commercial films.

@@amitroy729 I think Juhi was always in top 3 heroines during the 90s alongside Madhuri and Kajol. So she was definitely a superstar with blockbuster movies like Hum Hain rahi pyaar kay, Darr, Ishq etc. She was not on the level of Madhuri and Sridevi because they are literally the biggest female superstars of all time. But still she was very successful. Juhi was a bigger star than alot of her contemporaries like Karishma, Raveena and even Manisha although Manisha is a better actor than her.

Yes madhuri was vvvvvvvvvvv...popular than sridevi fantastic trained in dance good dialogue delivery than sridevi but superstar stardom was only sridevi. Sridevi enjoyed that stardom..she could easily reject movies .even opposite Amitabh ji.she never cared looses and gains ... Madhuri was a fantastic actress but sridebi was a versatile artist. Remove dhak dhak/choli k niche/ek da teen then?? Sridevi had huge stardom in south.

If she has nothing left to prove, why is she still seeking attention - prancing around like a diva - its women like this that create an utter imbalance in society. Always hungry! .... the person who says I have nothing left to prove does not need to make this statement, their silence is enough. Madhuri is an Indo-American who is playing the indian card when convenient, and the American one when there are gains there.... It is unfortunate that people like this are given any regard when there are real heroes /heroines out there... bad reflection on Indian society!
