It's truly a pity that you never had the opportunity to witness her performances during the 90s. It's interesting to hear people proclaiming her current show as her best ever, even as the audience refrains from dancing. You see, back then, we didn't have smartphones to clutch or record the moments; camera were not permitted within the concert venues or stadiums. All we had were lighters to wave in the air, often singeing our fingertips in the process. I still bear a scar on my fingertip from a concert she held in Montreal in 1993 - a memento of a different era. It's almost impossible to explain the frenzy that Madonna stirred during that time. She was the Taylor Swift of today, magnified tenfold. Every single bookstore, television station, magazine, and newsstand was overflowing with Madonna. Life was different back then, and it's a shame that you couldn't experience it firsthand. I can discern from your writings that you are ardent fans, and she is fortunate to continue attracting younger followers to her enclave. Trust me, betting on Madonna will never lead you astray.

From being at her last 6 tours and also going to this show in Philly, one thing that stuck out is how much fun she looks like she’s having. She was laughing, smiling, interacting more than I’ve ever seen before. Also, Philadelphia is the ONLY city besides NYC in the world that she has toured every single tour. Plus,she did Live Aid in 85 here. Maybe it’s an extra special city for her, but it was a fantastic show.

I saw her in New York last week. Great show! I went with low expectations based on some videos I saw from the London shows. She made some costume updates and looked much stronger and steadier at Madison Square Garden. She’s 65 people, and killing it!

Thanks. Saw her in Montreal. I’ve seen all her tours that have stopped here. This and Confessions Tour are just at the top of all the concerts I’ve seen in my life. Great energy! I would’ve wanted to hear the hung up part and feel the Philly crowd.

I agree with many people's comments that on this tour she seems to be having such fun. I have seen her before and I have never seen her hold fans hands as many times. I also have never seen her stop and pose in front of fans so that they can take a vid/pic. I believe that this will be her last tour, certainly a show and schedule of this nature. I don't know if she might do small theatre shows again and have a mini residence in a few cities. I think she has just decided that if this is a tour celebrating her and her incredible career then she is just going to have the best time and really go the fans what they want. Her previous tours it has always been about her vision and about what she wants in her show. I ❤ the DWT but it was obvious that the set list and staging were about her being fulfilled but this one I truly believe has been created to give the fans what they want. She has shown yet again that she is ahead of any other artist by not just coming out and performing the hits. She has curated a live autobiography that takes you on a journey of her life and career. I love that unlike a standard GH show she has included album deep cuts like Mother and Father (David performing in front of the projection of his mother breaks my heart every time). Who else would go from Holiday straight into In this life/Live to tell. I'm just glad that finally she is getting great reviews for her show and performance...apart from late starts! Honestly no one can surely have that many technical faults. If it's true that they really are having that many problems night after night then she needs to fire some of the techies. ❤❤

I don't understand why at 65 she can't just sing her classic songs all the way through without all the convoluted sex and apocalyptic bullshit. There are also far too many pre-recorded unoriginal screen projections where Madonna is entirely absent in spirit and person from her own show. I'd gladly and gratefully settle for scrapping all this - even if this renders the show just over an hour rather than two, it's a great trade-off in my opinion. She has enough seniority (in terms of being legendary) to get away delivering a quality hour, hour twenty minute show. The lesson here; sometimes - rather, often in life, less really is more. Highlights... Holiday, open your heart, into the groove, the opening minus Bob, bad girl, mother & father, la isla bonita, rain Things this critic could do without: re-enactment of masturbation scene from Blonde Ambition tour with helper sex doll/dancer, phone call from Tokischa saying Madonna needs to get fucked preceding Hung up; that's as exciting or original as an upcoming root canal, seriously and I'd say the same thing if she did that at 25. ray of light and bedtime stories would have been actually better just served up as original music videos as opposed to what she did live. Esp bedtime stories. Bitch I'm Madonna should be cut for entire performance of Celebration, and y'all will come for my throat but Vogue could have been done better too. My final overall grade. solid B, neither plus nor minus. Roughly speaking, show fell apart in second half as the undisputed Queen stumbled trying to unnecessarily cater to checking certain boxes - cloying world peace commentary, checking lifelessly the sex box, checking the apocalyptic/apocalyptic S&M box, as unnecessary now as it was back in the day. Like a Prayer naturally I forgot to add to highlights with caveat that anything Sam Smith weaved in however minimally is simply beneath Madonna.
