@@magicslave3066 Well her previous collaboration with Babyface "Take a Bow" became her longest #1 in the U.S. (7 consecutive weeks!) But I guess Madonna didn't want nor need to repeat herself. So she changed producers. (Rick Nowels & Patrick Leonard )

@@mikecee2145 But she had already worked with Leonard before ROL as well, so why not Babyface again? Maybe because Babyface is a one trick pony and can only do samey same R&B? Leonard is far more versatile I suppose.

This would fit perfectly on Bedtime Stories. It is interesting hearing her sing in her Bedtimes Stories vocal style with her newly Evita trained voice.
@justjess-zl3pm5 жыл бұрын
I'm not gonna be popular here but I prefer her pretrained vocals more. Her express yourself like a prayer voice. Papa don't preach voice etc ...I live everything she touches but after training her vibrato just got so forced and goat sounding sometimes. I like to hear her voice crack. Especially live. I like when she is emotional and sings and is out of tune a second. People say she can't act but when she is singing, she can win a Oscar.

@@diegosuarez5620 I half-agree with you in that "2.0" of anything would be a better version, which this is not, but I know what you meant. Anyway, who knows what her process was? Perhaps she played with similarity in creating both in order to choose the better of the two?
@diegosuarez56205 жыл бұрын
Valentino Miller This song was recorded with Babyface in February 1997. Three years after Take A Bow. These sessions were confirmed by their publicist Liz Rosemberg when started, but in the end these were not used and became one of the demos most desired by the fans. I think that all babyface ballads at this time sound a bit similar, even more so that it has no post production. If you look at the songs he did for Boyz II Men, TLC, Toni Braxton, Whitney Houston, these are very similar.
@valentinomiller62515 жыл бұрын
@@diegosuarez5620 Agreed. Babyface was successful as a producer, but his talent was quite limited and derivative.

@@valentinomiller6251 Bro did you just call Babyface’s talent limited? Alright, lololol I’m good on the internet today. I’d challenge you to find an artist who produces their own work who doesn’t have an immediately identifiable sound. If they don’t, that’s called being derivative. This is beyond disrespectful to an industry legend and I hope you don’t call yourselves music buffs.
