There is a layer of sophistication about Madonna that none of the other female pop artists can replicate... perhaps it comes with actually being a groundbreaking pioneer in the field rather than copying the template. I like the younger ones too... but Madonna is the best.

Omg they've all about tanked once they hit 30. Going crazy shaving their heads, resorting to lipsynced Vegas shows, or just disappearing. She was 30 when she did Blonde Ambition. She's always been the ahead of the curve culturally. I mean vogueing? Singing things like "would it different if I was a man?" Exposing Eva Peron to the world, bringing Indian culture and yoga culture to mainstream. Class act. And she still manages to look amazing. Her appearance and Kelly and Ryan on was the first time I've ever seen not rail thin in 36 years of being in the public eye! When ever I need inspiration I'm like, I'm like "she pole danced on a nun in Rebel Heart in her late 50's, get over yourself."

It is because she cannot sign the notes" do you wanna go higher" live. She tried performing the song at a few award shows and she was completely off pitch. i guess that is why she did not include it on any of her tours.

@@good2btheking I don't think it's the reason. Ray of Light is extremely hard to perform but she still finds the way to do so without being off pitch, in a different way. I don't think that only line could have been the problem, maybe she just doesn't live the song

That's because she tries not to include a lot of ballads on her tours because it could hurt her voice to sing high notes every night for months. That's why she never included "Bad Girl" either.

Para los que opinan de su tonalidad vocal, ella si tiene la fortaleza para terminar por completo una gira de conciertos por más cansada o lesionada que este, no como otras que tienen la mitad de su edad y no son capaces de hacerlos, Madonna con sus rutinas todavía se les tira a sus bailarines desde el aire y aún así sigue en pie.

I searched youtube and this is by far her BEST performace ever of this song. soft, elegant, on key and just hauntingly beautyful. Plus I miss the long dark hair she had. But she looks good no matter her hair color.

These are the kind of songs that Madonna was meant to sing. Everything about this works. The Goth look and black hair and makeup and everything. Ray Of Light was the last period Madonna was a real Artist and setting trends.
